  • Patent number: 5606448
Abstract: A polygon scanner has a lighter rotating shaft on which a polygon mirror is mounted, to prevent a positional deviation of the polygon mirror from the rotating shaft in high speed rotation, in which the rotating shaft is supported through a dynamic pressure air bearing on a fixed shaft, in which the polygon mirror and motor constituent members are mounted on the rotating shaft, and in which the rotating shaft and the polygon mirror are made of respective light weight materials matched with each other in coefficient of thermal expansion, for example of aluminum or an aluminum alloy. Further, an anodic oxide film is formed at least on a portion where the rotating shaft could contact with the fixed shaft, and floating means is provided for constantly floating the rotating shaft relative to the fixed shaft upward in an axial direction thereof.

  • Patent number: 5510664
Abstract: In a brushless motor, the number of coreless armature coils is set to 3n when the number of magnetic poles of a magnet for a magnetic field is set to 2n where n is a positive integer. An opening angle of each of the armature coils is set to 360/3n degrees. A notch portion is formed in an outer circumferential portion of the magnet for a magnetic field. A recessed portion is formed by this notch portion and an inner circumferential portion of a yoke. The recessed portion constitutes a groove for correcting a balance of each of the magnet for a magnetic field and a rotating body when this magnet and the rotating body are rotated. A motor housing and a harness are electrically connected to a printed board. The housing is connected to the ground through this harness and a harness for power. In this brushless motor, a magnetizing frequency is reduced and driving efficiency of a control circuit can improved when the brushless motor is rotated at a high speed.

  • Patent number: 5453650
Abstract: A face opposing type motor has a rotor yoke fixed to a hollow rotating shaft disposed in a non-contact bearing device; the non-contact bearing device having a fixed shaft inserted into the hollow rotating shaft; a rotor magnet held by the rotor yoke; and a driving coil substrate having a face opposed to the rotor magnet. The rotor yoke has a rotor magnet fitting portion fitted to an outer circumferential face of the rotor magnet so as to hold the rotor magnet by this rotor magnet fitting portion. In accordance with such a structure, it is possible to provide a reliable face opposing type motor having an excellent quality and cheaply manufactured by improving a system for holding a rotor magnet.

  • Patent number: 5097110
Abstract: The known reflecting mirror for a laser beam conisting of a mirror base member and a high-reflectivity metal coating layer formed on the mirror base member for reflecting a laser beam, is improved so as to maintain a high mirror reflectivity without necessitating a cooling facility. The improvements reside in that a coating layer having a small diffusion coefficient is provided on the back surface side of the high-reflectivity metal coating layer, and/or in that at least one layer of dielectric coating layer or layers are provided on the surface of the high reflectivity metal coating layer.

  • Patent number: 4861682
Abstract: A stainless clad plate or sheet (herein called sheet) comprising a super-low carbon steel layer containing at least one of Ti and Nb (Ti+Nb.ltoreq.0.15% and ##EQU1## and an austenite stainless steel layer on one or both sides of the carbon steel layer. The thickness of the stainless steel layer is preferably from 2.5 to 30% of the total thickness of the clad steel sheet. The stainless clad steel sheet is produced preferably by continuous casting stainless steel melt on the carbon steel slab, hot and cold rolling the stainless clad steel slab, and annealing under specific conditions for desired properties.

  • Patent number: 4520965
Abstract: An electric wire is wound as coil turns in slots in electric rotating machinery component such as a stator or an armature. The wire as it is supplied from a nozzle or flyer is guided by movable formers into successive layers of coil turns in the slots without forming an unwanted dead space in the slots. The formers are moved in radial increments to provide successive spaces in the slots for allowing the successive coil turn layers to be neatly laid in the spaces.

  • Patent number: 4018154
Abstract: Printing apparatus particularly suited to a cash register includes a hammer arranged to move printing paper into engagement with type wheels located on the other side of the paper. A cam and linkage move the hammer into and out of contact with the paper. Strong springs are provided to rapidly accelerate the hammer toward the paper through an engaging plate. The engaging plate is stopped before the hammer contacts the paper, and the hammer strikes the paper due to its inertia. The hammer rebounds off the paper and is caught and held by the linkage in the rebound position between the paper and the engaging plate to prevent double printing.
