In the camera, the driver rotates the spool in a film rewinding direction after a film in the film cartridge is rewound so that the detector circuit detects the reference position of the bar code according to the bar code information stored in the memory device, and the driver rotates the spool according to the reference position so as to locate a bar code portion corresponding to exposed state of the film.
