Patent number: 7581299Abstract: The invention eliminates the need of handling an engine in a process for assembling a torsion damper which couples the engine with a power transmission system and a torque limiter. In a damper unit with a torque limiter positioned between an output shaft of an engine and a power transmission shaft of a power transmission system, the damper unit includes a fly wheel damper, a torsion damper and a torque limiter. The torque limiter of the damper unit is coupled to the torsion damper with a set load applied thereto such that the torque limiter and the torsion damper are combined to form an assembly. The torsion damper and the torque limiter can be assembled by handling, independently of the engine, only components which are smaller and lighter than an engine. This improves the efficiency of the assembling operation of the damper unit with the torque limiter.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2005Date of Patent: September 1, 2009Assignee: Aisin AW Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yoshio Kintou, Yoshihiko Sasaki

Publication number: 20040121870Abstract: A drive unit equipped with an electric motor is provided with an input shaft 11 which is connected to a power plant; an electric motor shaft 41 which serves as an output shaft of an electric motor 4; a counter output shaft 12; and a planetary gear set 6 for drive-connecting the input shaft, the electric motor shaft and the counter output shaft so as to enable mutual transmission of power. In this drive unit, the input shaft is arranged in an outer circumference of the counter output shaft in a coaxial relationship. The input shaft and the counter output shaft are connected, respectively, in one side of the planetary gear set, to other two elements which are different from an element to which the electric motor shaft is connected. Outer circumferences of both edge portions of the input shaft is supported by a drive unit case 9. The input shaft is provided such that an outer circumference of the input shaft is supported by an inner circumference of the counter output shaft.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 4, 2003Publication date: June 24, 2004Inventors: Masayuki Takenaka, Yoshio Kintou, Yoshihiko Sasaki

Patent number: 6059684Abstract: A novel drive train includes a motor, a differential gear unit, and a counter gear mechanism for transmitting the power of the motor to the differential gear unit. A universal joint for joining the differential gear unit to an axle shaft of a vehicle is arranged outward of one axial end of the motor to eliminate interference with the motor, and the differential gear unit is arranged adjacent the opposite axial end of the motor, radially overlapping the motor to the maximum, to thereby shorten the axial distance between the motor and the differential gear unit.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 1998Date of Patent: May 9, 2000Assignee: Aisin AW Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yoshihiko Sasaki, Yoshio Kintou, Masahiro Hasebe
