  • Publication number: 20090119317
Abstract: A catch phrase generation device stores keywords in association with each other. Each keyword indicates a characteristic of a user, and a property to which each of keywords belongs. A plurality of templates are also stored. Each template has an insertion section for which a keyword property that should be inserted is determined in advance. A template corresponding to guidance information based on a predetermined condition is selected. A keyword acquisition unit analyzes an access history, which has been created by the user or to which the user has made reference, and acquires, based on an analyzed result, a stored keyword. A catch phrase generation unit selects, from among the keywords acquired by the keyword acquisition unit, a keyword belonging to a property identical to the property determined for the insertion section of the selected template, and inserts the selected keyword into the insertion section of the template.

  • Patent number: 7346600
Abstract: A data analysis unit outputs a plurality of the analytical results by performing various analyses on analytical data concerning a set of analytical objects from different viewpoints and different grading for re-arrangement and systematization of analytical objects. In a knowledge storage unit, the information expressing the background knowledge which can be utilized by the user is stored for each analytical object beforehand. An analytical result selection unit analyzes relationships between the analytical results output from the data analysis unit and the information stored in the knowledge storage unit, selects those results which have a high consistency with the background knowledge, and presents the selected analytical results to the user.

  • Publication number: 20070282536
Abstract: In an interaction evaluating apparatus, a sub-unit forming unit uses complex pair information as input information and refers to a family DB to make sub-units of the complex pair information. A GODB is a database that stores information relating to the protein attributes. A learning unit uses sub-unit complex pair information as input information and refers to the GODB to output a prediction rule set. An executing unit uses prediction target data obtained from a prediction-target generating unit as input information and refers to the prediction rule set to calculate an execution result, i.e., an attribute score that is validation evaluation of an interaction attribute of a sub-unit pair.

  • Publication number: 20070248977
Abstract: Detailed information of each analysis subject partial network is displayed on a left pane of a screen. The detailed information includes the number of nodes, the number of edges, and accumulative coverage of the analysis subject partial network for each disease. Based on the detailed information, a user can designate the analysis subject partial network of a disease the user wishes to analyze. When the user has designated the disease, a network diagram indicating a partial network related to the designated disease is displayed on a right pane.

  • Patent number: 6963830
Abstract: A text summarizer detects the hierarchical structure of topics in a document and extracts boundary sentences corresponding to the turning point of a topic from a candidate section of a topic boundary using the relation degree between a sentence and a topic passage. Then, the text summarizer extracts topic introductory sentences serving the purpose of introducing a topic from the introductory part of the topic beginning with this boundary sentence, and generates a summary using both the boundary sentences and topic introductory sentences.

  • Patent number: 6638317
Abstract: A digest generator apparatus calculates a lexical cohesion degree at each position in a document using a plurality of windows having different sizes, and calculates the candidate section of a topic boundary for each topic level corresponding to the size of a window. Then, by unifying the candidate section of different levels, the digest generator apparatus detects the topic boundary for each level. Then, based on the relation between a summarization-target topic passage and a long topic passage containing the summarization-target topic passage the digest generator apparatus extracts key sentences and generates a digest.

  • Patent number: 6205456
Abstract: A document summarization apparatus or method summarizes an electronic document written in a natural language, and generates an appropriate summary depending on user's focus and user's knowledge. The document summarization apparatus according to the present invention includes, for example, a focused information relevant portion extraction unit, a summary readability improvement unit, and a summary generation unit. The focused information relevant portion extraction unit extracts a portion related to two types of focused information in a document to be summarized based on the two types of focused information, that is, user-focused information as information focused by a user who uses a summary, and author-focused information as information emphasized by an author of the document to be summarized.

  • Patent number: 6061697
Abstract: An SGML document accessing unit to automatically create a partial editing document type definition DTD, according to a partial editing request for an SGML type document, that represents a restriction against partial editing to keep the document conformance to the DTD of an entire document. An SGML document editing apparatus edits a portion of the document to be edited corresponding to the restriction of the partial editing DTD that represents a restriction against partial editing due to the existing document structure and influence of other editing works executing in parallel at the time when a partial editing request is issued. An extended content model is attached to every document element of a stored SGML document to reduce the cost of creating a partial editing DTD. The extended content model is a variant of a content model of an element declaration in a DTD, and it represents arrangement of child document elements of its relating document element with instance identifiers of the child document elements.
