On the surface of a substrate, a primer layer is formed using any of these primer compositions for a fluororesin, and a fluororesin layer is formed via this primer layer, to produce a fixing member.

    Abstract: A small-sized high performance fixing device is realized by using a thin cylindrical structure having a structure which prevents loss of contact between inner reinforcing members and the thin cylindrical structure and prevents collapsing in the circumferential direction of the thin cylindrical structure due to wall-thinning, when the thin cylindrical structure receives the external force on the peripheral surface thereof.For a fixing device for heat fixing operated by passing recording papers, on which toner images were transferred, through a pressurizing zone formed by a fixing roller formed of a cylindrical structure having a heater in the inside and a pressure roller, a cylindrical structure which is provided with at least one supporting member forcibly inserted in the thin cylindrical structure and is maintained in the firm contact condition with the inside surface of the cylindrical structure at portions of the outside peripheral surface of the supporting members is used as the fixing roller.

The liquid removing device comprises a base member, an elastic perforated material formed on the base member and having a continuous porosity sufficient to absorb excess liquid therein and an outermost layer formed on the elastic perforated material which has low surface energy sufficient to prevent an offset phenomenon of the toner image and small apertures defined thereby allowing passage the carrier liquid but the toner image therethrough.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a non-contact ink developing method for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an electrostatic latent image formation member with ink, characterized by employing a conductive ink as the ink and a conductive developing roller disposed close to the electrostatic latent image formation member and whose surface has a water-repellent finish for producing very small ink droplets which are substantially spherical. The method comprising the steps of supplying the conductive ink to the surface of the conductive roller to produce a large number of very small ink droplets, and ejecting the ink droplets toward the electrostatic latent image in a developing area facing the electrostatic latent image formation member by an electrostatic induction force generated by charges of the electrostatic latent image and charges of opposite polarity induced in the ink droplets by the electrostatic latent image, and attaching the droplets to the electrostatic latent image.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a fixing device where a copying medium carrying a non-fixed toner image thereon is passed between a pair of fixing rolls as being kept in direct contact with each other under pressure so as to fix the non-fixed toner image on the copying medium, the device being characterized in that a toner release at least containing, as an active ingredient, a functional group-containing organopolysiloxane of a general formula (I): ##STR1## the organopolysiloxane having a viscosity of from 10 to 100,000 cs at 25.degree. C., is supplied to at least the fixing roll of being brought into contact with the non-fixed toner image of the said pair of fixing rolls. Using the toner release, the copying medium releasability from the fixing roll to which the toner release is applied is good and the heat-resistance of the fixing roll is also good.

A power supply member typically has divisional electrodes arranged in the width direction of the heating member, and supplies the electric energy to the heating member. A pressurizing member is disposed opposite the heating member with the image-carrying sheet interposed therebetween, and provides a pressure acting between the divisional electrodes and the image-carrying sheet.

    Abstract: A device for developing an electrostatic latent image recorded on a photoconductive layer. The developing device comprises a doner roll for supporting a uniform layer of single-component developing material adjacent to the photoconductive layer. The doner roll is disposed as to create a space gap between the photoconductive layer and the doner roll. The doner roll is made of semiconductive material having a specific resistance ranging from 10.sup.6 to 10.sup.12 .OMEGA.cm. An electrical bias potential is applied across the gap, thereby establishing a field for transferring the developing material from the doner roll to the photoconductive layer.
