  • Patent number: 5474488
Abstract: An apparatus for forming input and output electrodes on the outer peripheral surface of a dielectric block coated with an electrically conductive film includes a holder for holding the block, a cutting tool with cutting surfaces, and a compression pump. Mobile tables supporting the holder and the cutting tool are controlled to cause the cutting surfaces to come in contact with a specified area on the outer peripheral surface of the block. Cutting water mixed with abrasive grains is projected by the compression pump onto the specified area, and ultrasonic vibrations generated by a vibration generator and amplified by an amplifier horn are transmitted to the cutter, causing a portion of the conductive film to be removed from a frame-shaped area, leaving an isolated piece of the conductive film separated from the remainder of the film to serve as an electrode.

  • Patent number: 5243947
Abstract: A fuel injection control system is provided for use in a cylinder injection/spark ignition type internal combustion engine in which fuel is injected directly into cylinders through respective fuel injection valves mounted in the cylinder heads. An ECU determines a desired fuel injection amount based upon the engine rotational speed and an engine load condition, determines desired fuel pressure to be supplied to the fuel injection valves and controls the actual fuel supply pressure relative to the desired fuel pressure. The ECU causes fuel to be supplied under the desired fuel pressure to each of the fuel injection valves, based upon the engine rotational speed and injected thereby into the corresponding cylinder when the crank angle of the engine falls within a predetermined range in the vicinity of a top dead point of the cylinder corresponding to a compression stroke thereof. The predetermined crank angle range is set to a range of 20.degree. BTDC to 5.degree. ATDC.

  • Patent number: 4914602
Abstract: A method of press-molding defectiveness detection adapted for the detection of the press-bonding defectiveness of a terminal which is attached to the end of a covered wire so that a wire barrel and an insulation barrel of the terminal are press-bonded to a conductor portion at the end of the covered wire and a covered portion of the wire, respectively, by press-molding. A profile of a press-bonding load acting on the terminal during terminal press-bonding operation is detected, and the press-bonding defectiveness of the terminal is determined by comparing the detected press-bonding load profile with a reference press-bonding load profile. The press-bonding defectiveness of the terminal may be determined, as required, by comparing the integral value of the press-bonding load, calculated on the basis of the detected press-bonding load profile, with a predetermined reference value.
