  • Publication number: 20040160409
Abstract: At a host device, attribute information (the presence or absence of an overwriting prohibition and the like) of each of image display mediums (electronic papers) is stored in association with individual identification numbers, which are unique to each image display medium. Hence, when a predetermined image is to be displayed at an image display medium in accordance with input from an operation portion, for example, an image display medium for which an overwriting prohibition has not been written to the attribute information can be selected, and image data can be transmitted to this display medium for displaying the image. Thus, image display at each image display medium can be excellently controlled in accordance with attribute information such as overwriting prohibitions and the like.

  • Publication number: 20040145989
Abstract: A recording medium is structured by a recording layer, which is for storing storage data, and an indication layer, which is for indication information used for identifying the storage data, being laminated together. Writing and deletion are possible at the indication layer. A PC generates inputted storage data and indication information for identifying the storage data, and transmits them to a writing/reading device. The writing/reading device writes the storage data and the indication information to the recording medium. The storage data is written at the recording layer, and the indication information is written at the indication layer. The storage data stored at the recording medium can be easily and correctly grasped.

  • Publication number: 20040113865
Abstract: A holding stand is constituted by a carrying case for holding sheets of electronic paper and a base for uprightly supporting the carrying case that is substantially vertical. From the holding stand, two page fields, each expressing the number of pages of sheets of electronic paper to be displayed and position page field expressing a current page position of electronic paper and incremented on each of the sheets, are added to image data, and the image data is output to the sheets of electronic paper. In each sheets, when the two page fields coincide with each other in comparison between the two page fields, an image based on the image data is displayed in a display region. When the two page fields are different from each other, the position page field is incremented by one, and the position page field is transmitted to the next electronic paper.

  • Publication number: 20040109989
Abstract: The hard copy has a transparent coat layer which is formed on an image recording surface of a recording medium on a side of which an image is recorded and covers at least a part of the image recording surface. The transparent coat layer has asperities corresponding to three-dimensional information of the image, materials of objects forming the image, or density variation in the surface area of the image. The hard copy creation method records the image on the recording medium on the side of the image recording surface and then forms on the image recording surface the transparent coat layer having the asperities.

  • Publication number: 20020033975
Abstract: An image reading apparatus and method are provided which precisely correct shading due to dispersion of the spectral sensitivity characteristic of a reading area of a reading device. Second correction values for correcting, for each of R, G and B, shading due to partial dispersion of spectral characteristics of color separation filters are respectively set and stored for each film type and for each of a plurality of blocks forming an image, on the basis of results of reading a film for correction value setting. Then, from the stored second correction values, correction values corresponding to a type of a film which is an object of reading are retrieved to derive correction values for each pixel by interpolation. The derived correction values for each pixel are added to first correction values for correcting shading due to irregularity in the amount of light or the like.

  • Publication number: 20020003896
Abstract: In a digital still camera, it is determined whether a current photographing is performed in a document copy mode provided for precisely photographing a document or bar code, and if not, another determination is made as to whether the current photographing is performed under a particular image capturing condition including a resolution and a photographing distance. Further, if a determination that a paper money or security is photographed is affirmative, a predetermined image is overwritten on an image obtained by the photographing.

  • Patent number: 6196848
Abstract: An infant toy for drawing a colored picture, capable of carrying out a colorful multi-color display, to thereby be suitable as an intellectual training toy. The toy includes a pair of substrates (12a, 12b) and a multi-cell structure arranged between the substrates and including a number of cells (16), which are previously classified into a desired number of regions 4 (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d, . . . ). The toy also includes dispersions (20) encapsulated in the cells of the regions in such a manner that the regions adjacent to each other may exhibit colors different from each other, respectively. The dispersions each include magnetic particles (18) having a respective one of the different colors put thereon, a dispersion medium and a coloring agent constituting a background.

  • Patent number: 5156152
Abstract: An ultrasonic diagnosing apparatus displaying blood flow data. A Doppler shift signal is detected from a reception signal obtained by an ultrasonic transducer by transmitting/receiving an ultrasonic wave to/from an object. Doppler data obtained from this detection signal is written in a memory. Monochromatic ultrasonic image data and the Doppler data are used to perform color processing of the ultrasonic image data in accordance with the Doppler data. The apparatus includes a mixing/processing section and a switching control section. The mixing/processing section includes a reversing section for reversing display colors associated with moving directions by performing complement processing of the Doppler data read out from the memory, and a selector section for selecting one of the reversed and the non-reversed Doppler data. The mixing/processing section mixes the selected Doppler data with the ultrasonic image data.
