  • Publication number: 20020189412
Abstract: An eccentric facing unit wherein a tool driving shaft is concentrically disposed in a spindle for relative rotation with respect to the spindle. A tool-shaft supporting shaft is eccentrically disposed in a spindle and is connected with the tool driving shaft through a geared transmission so as to rotate at speed two times faster than that of the tool driving shaft. A tool shaft is eccentrically disposed in the tool-shaft supporting shaft in an eccentricity equal to that of the tool-shaft supporting shaft with respect to the spindle and is connected through an Oldham's shaft coupling with the tool driving shaft for integral rotation therewith.

  • Patent number: 5379128
Abstract: A document transport apparatus provides continuous transport of documents input with a prescribed spacing between the documents, and can rapidly detect when documents close up or overlap. Detection of close up or overlap is made by measuring a length of each document by a transported document length measuring device and comparing the measured length with a predetermined length for that document measured by an input document length measuring device positioned upstream of the transported document length measuring device. If a measured length exceeds the predetermined length, a condition of close up or overlap is deemed to exist. The document transport apparatus is described in the context of its use in an image capture apparatus or scanner.

  • Patent number: 4973829
Abstract: A method of reading bar codes which enables incomplete readings of bar code data produced by excessive misalignment between the bar code and the bar code scanning line to be assembled automatically into a complete reading of the bar code data. This is done by combining incomplete data obtained by multiple passes of the read scanner, using a superimposition technique.

  • Patent number: 4804976
Abstract: A thermal printer for printing an output dye image in a receiver including a memory circuit for storing a matrix printing pattern of pixels. The thermal printer comprises a detector for detecting the level of pixels data read out sequentially from the memory circuit to determine if a pixel of a line in the output image is to be printed has adjacent pixels that are not to be printed. Circuitry is provided to receive a printing pattern from the memory and to be responsive to the detector and to cause the heating elements corresponding to such image pixel to be printed to be energized above a predetermined dye transfer threshold level and the heating elements corresponding to pixels not be printed to be energized below the threshold level.
