  • Patent number: 7387611
Abstract: An acceleration information detecting unit of an acceleration detecting apparatus having an acceleration sensor with at least one axis that measures acceleration in a back and forth direction (or a right and left direction) of a walking person. Acceleration data indicating the acceleration is sent to a wireless communication control unit. The wireless communication control unit sends the acceleration data to a physical movement analyzer using a short-distance wireless communication method. On the other hand, the wireless communication control unit of the physical movement analyzer receives the acceleration data that is sent from the acceleration detecting apparatus using a short-distance wireless communication method and sends it to a walking speed detecting unit. The walking speed detecting unit estimates strides and walking period based on the received acceleration data and calculates the walking speed based on the strides and the walking period.

  • Patent number: 5975890
Abstract: A catalytic combustor utilizes radioactive heat with a high efficiency, has a radiation wavelength distribution rich in visible ray components, and is excellent in complete combustibility and visual confirmability even in a standby combustion condition. The present invention forms a thin film coat of metal or metal oxide which transmits rays having short wavelengths and reflects rays having long wavelengths on a surface of a transmission window disposed opposite to an upstream surface of a catalyst body. The catalyst body is composed of a metal wire structure having a high aperture ratio and is disposed in a combustion chamber. Furthermore, an auxiliary catalyst body which has a high aperture ratio and a small capacity is disposed in the vicinity of a mixed gas injection port at a location in contact with the mixed gas when the flow rate of the mixed gas is less than a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 4427365
Abstract: A wick assembly for a liquid fuel combustion apparatus is structured by laminating a main wick and an auxiliary wick, and sandwiching a separator of an oil-impermeable material therebetween. By being so structured, the main wick can be made being hardly deteriorated in terms of its calorific value. A material having a large oil containing ability can be selected for the main wick, and distance between the oil level and top of wick can be made shorter. Fire-spreading time of the wick assembly after a lapse of long service period is still as short as that at the beginning of the service, and generation of an objectional odor and carbon monoxide at the time of ignition can be suppressed constantly.
