Abstract: A disposable wearing article includes a liquid-impervious chassis, a pair of liquid-impervious leak-barrier sheets laid along transversely opposite side edges of the chassis, a body fluid absorbent first panel extending over a crotch region and a rear waist region of the chassis and joined to the chassis, and a body fluid absorbent second panel extending over a front waist region and the crotch region. The second panel has a front portion joined to the front waist region, a distal portion and transversely opposite side edges joined to the chassis. The distal portion has side sections extending upward above the chassis and joined to distal sections of the respective leak-barrier sheets, and a transversely middle section which extends between the side sections and is convex upward above the side sections and thereby a pocket opening from the crotch region toward the rear waist region is formed between the chassis and the distal portion.

Abstract: In a method for continuously making disposable diapers, first and second body fluid absorbent panels overlapping each other in a crotch region so as to form a feces retaining pocket are formed along transversely opposite side edges thereof with elastic leak-barrier cuffs. A pair of continuous leak-barrier cuffs are fed in the stretched state so that these continuous leak-barrier cuffs may partially cover the first and second body fluid absorbent panels overlapping each other in the crotch region. The transversely opposite side edges of these continuous cuffs are partially bonded to a partial region of a second inner surface of the second body fluid absorbent panel overlapping a first inner surface of the first body fluid absorbent panel.

Abstract: An indicator interposed between a liquid-impervious sheet and an absorbent core of a body fluid absorbent article includes a water-absorbent sheet and indication elements held in close contact with the water-absorbent sheet. The water-absorbent sheet is preferably formed from porous thermoplastic films having a total luminous transmittance of 40% or lower in a dry state and 60% or higher in a wet state.

Abstract: A disposable diaper includes a top sheet, a back sheet, and a liquid absorbent core disposed therebetween. The diaper has openings, which pass through the top sheet and the core, and are formed in at least the crotch region of the diaper. The back sheet has a free portion which is disposed beneath the core and extendible downwards in its thickness direction. The back sheet further has a fixed edge portion which is outside an outer periphery of the free portion and fixed to the top sheet. A plurality of longitudinally extending contractible elastic members are disposed at least in the free portion and the fixed edge portion. A plurality of transversely extending gathers are formed under the contraction of the elastic members.

Abstract: An elastically stretchable disposable wearing article has a front waist region, a rear waist region and a crotch region. This wearing article is formed with a first elastic zone, a second elastic zone and third elastic zones respectively exhibiting stretch stress adjusted to be decreased in this order. An elastically stretchable web is continuously fed in a machine direction, formed with pairs of slits in desired patterns so that two slits constituting each of the pairs may be symmetrically laid about a transversely middle zone of the web and then folded in a cross direction orthogonal to the machine direction so that the web may be alternately overlapped on itself about the transversely middle zone to form the wearing article.

Abstract: An open-type disposable wearing article composed of a front waist region, a rear waist region and a crotch region. These regions are all elastically stretchable. The article includes first and second stretchable zones respectively bifurcated at a transverse middle of the crotch region so as to extend to lateral zones of the front and rear waist regions, respectively, and third stretchable zones defined by zones other than the first and second stretchable zones. The first and second stretchable zones exhibit a stretch stress higher than a stretch stress of the third stretchable zones. Loop members are provided to the second stretchable zone in the lateral zones of the rear waist region and hook members are provided to the first stretchable zone in the lateral zones of the front waist region.

Abstract: A disposable wearing article is provided with a pair of liquid-barrier sheets on a body-side surface of the article. A dimension by which distal edges of distal zones of the barrier sheets are spaced from each other in a transverse direction is gradually enlarged from a side of rear ends toward the side of front ends of the article. An end sheet functioning to pull the distal zones closer to each other in the transverse direction is attached to the distal zones extending aside toward the side of the rear ends so as to extend between the distal zones. With the article put on the wearer's body, the distal edges of the distal zones come closer to or in contact with the wearer's inguinal region and further go into the wearer's buttock cleavage and come closer to or in contact with both sides of the anus.

Abstract: A disposable wearing article has an elasticized first band lying in a front half of a crotch region and attached to distal zones of a pair of leak-barrier sheets provided on a body side of the article and an elasticized second band lying in a rear half of the crotch region and attached to the distal zones. A dimension by which distal edge segments of the distal zones extending forward from the first band in a longitudinal direction are spaced from each other is gradually enlarged from the side of the first band toward the side of the a front waist region.

Abstract: A disposable undergarment includes liquid-impervious skin-contactable sheets actually having a pair of belt-like strips spaced apart from and opposed to each other in a transverse direction of an undergarment and extending in a longitudinal direction of the undergarment along transversely opposite side edge portions of the undergarment. The skin-contactable sheets are attached to a skin-contactable surface of the undergarment so as to cover a panel. The skin-contactable sheets have fixed surface areas secured to longitudinally opposite end portions of the undergarment and free surface areas adapted to be spaced upward from the panel so that the skin-contactable surface may be partially surfaced between these skin-contactable sheets.

Abstract: An absorbent article such as a disposable diaper is provided with an indicator adapted to become visible as soon as bodily fluid is discharged. The indicator is formed from a composite nonwoven fabric composed of a hydrophilic melt blown nonwoven fabric layer and a hydrophilic spun bond nonwoven fabric layer on which a display element is depicted and laminated on one surface of the hydrophilic melt blown nonwoven fabric layer. A first surface of the composite nonwoven fabric facing an absorbent core of the diaper is held together with the display element and a second surface of the composite nonwoven fabric facing a backsheet of the diaper is held in close contact with the inner surface of the backsheet. The display element is covered up by the composite nonwoven fabric in its dry state covers up and the display elements become visible from the outside of the backsheet through the nonwoven fabric as soon as the nonwoven fabric is wetted with bodily fluids.

Abstract: A disposable diaper has a through-hole formed in an inner sheet destined to come in contact with a wearer's skin so that this through-hole may communicate with a pocket for receiving feces. The inner sheet is formed with an elastic area extending in a longitudinal direction along transversely opposite side edges of the through-hole. In a crotch region of the diaper, a stiffening sheet strips are attached to the inner sheet between the transversely opposite side edges of the diaper and the transversely opposite side edges so that the respective stiffening sheet strips extend in a transverse direction.

Abstract: A disposable wearing article is provided with a skin-contactable panel laid in a front half of a crotch region of the article and a liquid-impervious partition laid in a vicinity of a transverse center line of the article. The panel has transversely opposite side edges bonded to transverse opposite side portion of the article and a intermediate region defined between these side edges. The partition has an upper edge bonded to the panel, a lower edge bonded to a topsheet of the article transversely opposite side edges bonded to the side portions of the article and a middle portion defined between the upper and lower edges. The intermediate region of the panel describes an upward convex circular arc above the topsheet and the middle portion of the partition is unfolded in a thickness direction of the article so as to form a pocket-like barrier against movement of bodily wastes.

Abstract: A disposable wearing article includes a partition provided in a front half of a crotch region divided by a transverse centerline bisecting a longitudinal dimension of the article so that the partition extends in the transverse direction on a topsheet. During use of the article, the partition curves in the transverse direction so as to describe a generally circular arc which is convex upward above the topsheet. The partition is thus spaced upward from the topsheet and the wearer's genital organ in contact with an outer surface of the partition is also spaced from the topsheet. In this way, the genital organ is protected from soiling with loose passage.
