  • Patent number: 6705004
Abstract: During the process of transporting an electronic component (18) to a substrate (10) after a suction nozzle (7) has picked up the component (18), the component (18) being supplied from a component supply unit (1), the amount of offset of the component (18) with respect to the suction nozzle (7) is calculated. The feasibility of mounting the component (18) held by the suction nozzle (7) onto the substrate (10) without hindrance is determined from the amount of offset. If the result of the determination is positive, the component (18) is mounted onto the substrate (10).

  • Patent number: 6366310
Abstract: An electronic parts mounting apparatus for divisionally recognizing an electronic part (2) even when the apparatus is arranged in such that the relative positional relation between a recognition camera (4) and a nozzle (1) cannot be varied. The electronic part (2) is vacuum-clamped by a nozzle (1), the posture of the nozzle (1) or the posture of the electronic part (2) is changed a plurality of times by a rotary driving member (3), and a part of the electronic part (2) imaged by the recognition camera (4) every time the posture of the electronic part (2) is changed, whereby the part is recognized. Thus, the recognition of the contour of the electronic part (2) becomes possible, and the electronic part can be mounted accurately on a circuit board by making a positional correction on the basis of the amount of deviation obtained.

  • Publication number: 20020002143
Abstract: The present invention provides a vaccine containing a Sendai virus vector encoding a virus protein of an immunodeficiency virus. By intranasally administering a Sendai virus encoding a virus protein of an immunodeficiency virus to a macaque monkey, the present inventors have succeeded in efficiently inducing protective immunity against an immunodeficiency virus. As a result of intranasal inoculation of vaccine, expression of an antigen protein mediated by Sendai virus vector was detected in intranasal mucous membrane and local lymph nodes and antigen-specific cellular immune response was induced at a significant level. No pathological symptom by vaccination was observed. After vaccination, exposure of simian immunodeficiency virus was performed and the effect was examined. As a result, the amount of virus in plasma significantly decreased, compared with that of the control animal. The present invention provides a promising vaccine as an AIDS vaccine.

  • Publication number: 20010040597
Abstract: An ink-jet image forming method forms an image by forming dots using a fast-drying ink and a slow-drying ink, in which, when forming an image, an ambient temperature of an area where the image is formed is detected, and dot density of a predetermined area of the image is recognized based on image data. A process used to form dots is selected based on the detected ambient temperature and the recognized dot density. Under the condition where the inks are easily dried, the slow-drying ink is used to form dots, and under the condition where it is difficult to dry the inks, the slow-drying ink is used suitably with the fast-drying ink to form dots. As a result, the inks can be dried efficiently while suppressing deterioration of image quality.
