  • Patent number: 5809180
Abstract: This invention relates to a data conversion system utilizing a cell comprising: a shift register supplied with a plurality of data for sequentially shifting the data; a memory, supplied with data in a certain area of the shift register as addresses, storing data for outputting a predetermined value when data in the certain area are in a pattern to determine the value of the center dot of the area, or for outputting an instruction signal for determining the value of the center dot according to dot data outside of the certain area when data in the certain area are not in a pattern to determine the value of the center dot of the area; and an operation unit for selecting and outputting said predetermined value from said memory when no instruction signal is supplied from the memory and for outputting the value of the center dot by determining it from data outside the certain area per the instruction signal.

  • Patent number: 5445249
Abstract: A dynamic vibration absorber includes a movable weight portion, and a movable portion magnet assembly provided for the movable weight portion. The movable portion magnet assembly includes a magnet train having a plurality of cylindrical magnets disposed coaxially in such a manner that adjacent cylindrical magnets have different adjacent magnetic poles. A fixed portion is provided in opposed relation to the movable weight portion and a fixed portion magnet train is provided on the fixed portion and includes a plurality of magnets having magnetic poles different, in a stationary state, from opposed magnetic poles of the cylindrical magnets. The movable weight portion is preferrably disposed in a vessel.

  • Patent number: 5436982
Abstract: A data processing system including a normalizing unit for receiving a part of a plurality of pixels in a one-pixel column of image data in parallel and for magnifying or contracting the data in the vertical direction in the one pixel-column, and a transposing unit for transposing image data magnified or contracted in one direction obtained from the normalizing unit and for reprinting the transposed data to the normalizing unit. This invention is applicable to data processing by character recognition devices for reading characters of different sizes.

  • Patent number: 5214717
Abstract: This invention pertains to a data processing system for pattern recognition by sorting the scores of the candidate patterns by their feature vectors per an associative matching method. It aims first at determining feature vectors at a high speed even if a recognition device obtains dictionary data in dot units, second at determining scores by an association conformance recognition device, and third at sorting inputted data from the highest score at a high speed.

  • Patent number: 4684270
Abstract: A serial print element for use with a serial matrix font type printer for printing dot matrix type graphics with a serial matrix font type printer and a method of printing dot matrix graphics with a serial matrix font type printer. The print element includes a carrier for supporting type elements. The print element is coupled to the carrier and is capable of printing at least graphics images formed of dot patterns. The print elements include at least one dot pattern segment series of at least two dots in length. Each of the dot pattern segment series includes a type element on the carrier for each printable dot pattern combination. As a result, dot matrix type graphics can be printed by a serial matrix font type printer. In addition, the print element can contain ASCII character type elements to allow both graphics and character printing with the same print element.

  • Patent number: 4251979
Abstract: Bottle-shaped containers of biaxially-oriented blow-molded plastic material are introduced into the space formed between the helical blade continuously rotated and the backup plate of a screw conveyor, and are conveyed in one direction to next conveyor by the rotation of the helical blade of the screw conveyor. The bottle-shaped containers are stood by at the end of the conveyor. When the bottle-shaped containers thus conveyed are aligned in predetermined longitudinal and lateral arrary in predetermined number to be stood by, they are simultaneously held by the bottle-shaped container group holding mechanism utilizing negative pressure, and are then raised from the standby position.

  • Patent number: 4132351
Abstract: An information reader for reading both light transmissive and light reflective information from an information carrying medium such as a card is provided. The information reader is adapted to selectively dispose a card at a reading position. A transmissive light source is disposed on a first side of the reading position for directing light at the card to be transmitted therethrough. A reflective light source is disposed on the other side of the reading position for directing light at the medium to be reflected therefrom. A light sensitive transducer circuit is disposed proximate to the reading position on the same side of the medium as the reflective light source for detecting either the light transmitted through the medium when the reader is in a transmissive mode, or the light reflected from the medium when the reader is in a reflective mode.
