Abstract: A rotating drum tumbler for loosening damp, entangled cloths or sheets is disclosed which includes a frame, a cylindrical drum rotatably supported by the frame for rotation about a horizontal axis thereof and having an opening in each of the opposite ends thereof, and drive means for rotating the drum, and which is characterized in that a conveyer is secured within the drum for rotation therewith and operable to discharge the loosened cloths or sheets placed thereon through one of the openings when the drum is maintained in a predetermined position with the conveyer being horizontally positioned.

Abstract: A cloth dryer includes a rotary cylindrical drum defining therewithin a drying chamber for cloths, an air blower for feeding air to the drying chamber for drying the cloths, an opening formed in an outer periphery of the drum for discharging the cloths from the drying chamber therethrough, a cover plate supported on the drum and movable relative to said drum to open and close the opening, whereby the cloths within the drying chamber are discharged by gravity therefrom through the opening when the drum is stopped to maintain the opening in a downwardly oriented position and when the cover plate is opened.

Abstract: A device for straightening one edge DA of the four side edges AB, BC, CD and DA of a flexible sheet such as a crumpled bed sheet disclosed. One corner A of the sheet and a portion of the edge AB are held by a pair of laterally spaced apart, left and right holders mounted on a movable member so that the sheet is displaced on an elongated plate along the longitudinal direction thereof by the movement of the movable member. One or more laterally extending endless conveyers belts are provided on the plate to laterally move the sheet on the plate. A detector is provided to determine the direction of the movement of each of the conveyors, so that the edge DA is made in parallel with the longitudinal direction of the plate.

Abstract: An automatic winding machine for a rolled towel in which a towel winding shaft and a friction roll are journalled respectively above and below a driving shaft horizontally journalled in an upper part of a machine frame. A horizontal bar is mounted on an arm lever in such a way that it freely makes contact with said friction roll, and thereby forces the towel onto the lower portion of said friction roll. Two sets of photosensitive units are mounted at the right and left sides of the machine frame in such a way that the rising towel is guided between the respective light sources and phototubes of each photosensitive unit. A timer is commonly connected to the contacts of the right and left phototubes, and the contact of a relay is connected with the delay contact of said timer in such a way that the machine is automatically stopped when a folded or torn portion of a towel is detected.
