Abstract: A method for fast initialization in discrete multi-tone (DMT) system for digital subscriber line and a method for point-to-multipoint transfer of multicarrier system for continuous transfer of multicarrier signal in digital subscriber line. The method for fast initialization includes performing activation and acknowledgement, transceiver training and performing selectively bit swapping algoritlun using a switch according to the system status for optimizing the channel efficiency in the discrete multi-tone (DMT) system having a transmitting part and receiving part.

Abstract: A sampling clock signal recovery device and method for providing the sampling clock signal recovery device, in a receiving terminal of a discrete multitone (DMT) system, for accurately recovering a sampling clock signal by reducing sampling-induced jitter noise, i.e., by removing additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) from the receiving terminal of the DMT system, and stably recovering a sampling clock signal. The above is accomplished by determining whether the phase error is smaller than a predetermined threshold value. If the phase error is equal to, or greater than the predetermined threshold value, then the instant invention corrects the sampling clock signal by the phase error. However, if the phase error is less than the predetermined threshold value, then the instant invention calculates an average value of some or all of decision error values, and corrects the sampling clock signal by the average value. Thus, a sampling clock signal is more accurately recovered.

Abstract: Adaptive bit swapping method and device are provided. The method includes the steps of (a) initializing the DMT system to transmit the data via the channel in a steady state; (b) selecting a frame having an inserted sync block from a frame structure of the transmitted data; (c) calculating the signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) of respective sub-channels of the selected frame; (d) calculating first difference value between the present representative SNRs calculated in step (c) and the previous representative SNRs of each sub-channel; (e) selecting a maximum value and minimum value among the first difference values of the respective sub-channels; (f) obtaining the second difference value between the maximum value and the minimum value; (g) determining whether the second difference value is equal to or greater than the predetermined threshold value; and (h) correcting bit and power assigning tables of a transmitter and a receiver if the second difference value is greater than or equal to the threshold value.
