  • Patent number: 8657977
Abstract: A pneumatic tire is manufactured by vulcanizing the uncured tire formed by assembling uncured rubber tire components, at least one of which is made by winding a plurality of tapes around an axis while traversing the tapes along the axis, wherein the number of stroke of the traversing of the tapes is increased in a thick portion than in a thin portion of the tire component, and an angle between one end and the other end of each of the tapes around said axis is at most 90 degrees. The respective midpoints between the one end and the other end around the axis, of the tapes are sifted from each other in the circumferential direction of the tire.

  • Patent number: 7770618
Abstract: A pneumatic tire is provided with an electrically conductive path extending continuously from a position in the rim contacting surface to a position in the ground contacting surface through a sidewall portion, wherein a sidewall rubber is a high-performance rubber compound and almost-insulative, having a volume resistivity of not less than 1×10^8 ohm cm. The electrically conductive path includes a helical path made of an electrically conductive rubber having a volume resistivity of not more than 1×10^7 ohm cm. The helical path is disposed axially inside the sidewall rubber and extends spirally around the tire rotational axis. Preferably, the tread rubber, clinch rubber and carcass topping rubber are also almost-insulative high-performance rubber compounds.

  • Publication number: 20070144658
Abstract: In a strip wind manufacturing method, the invention provides a manufacturing method of a rubber member for a tire, which can reduce an air remnant in a rubber member. In a manufacturing method of a rubber member for a tire for manufacturing the rubber member having a plurality of overlapping layers for the tire by spirally winding a ribbon-shaped unvulcanized rubber strip around an approximately cylindrical wound body, a torsional direction of a spiral and an axial winding direction are set identical between a first rubber strip forming a first rubber layer in an inner side in a radial direction by spirally winding, and a second rubber strip forming a second rubber layer by spirally winding in an outer side thereof.

  • Publication number: 20070107848
Abstract: A device to apply a thin narrow rubber tape to a rotating object, which can be suitably utilized for making a rubber component of a pneumatic tire, is disclosed. The device comprises: a conveyer belt; a let-off roller on which the conveyer belt runs and from which the rubber tape is let off; a traverser to move the let-off roller in an X-axis direction parallel to the rotational axis of the object; a radial shifter to move the let-off roller in a Y-axis direction perpendicular to the X-axis direction; a tilter to turn the rotational axis of the let-off roller around a reference axis which is parallel to a Z-axis direction perpendicular to the X-axis direction and Y-axis direction.
