Abstract: An electronic device includes a display; a communication interface; a camera; and a controller configured to control the display to display content; control the camera to capture an image of a user who watches the electronic device while displaying the content; control to obtain information regarding a posture of the user based on the captured image; control to determine whether the posture of the user is acceptable based on the obtained information regarding the posture of the user; and based on determining that the posture of the user is not acceptable, control the communication interface to transmit the captured image of the user to another device.

Abstract: A portable device and a method for controlling a display device include receiving first display information of a first arrangement of icons displayed on a screen of the display device, displaying the first arrangement of icons on a display of a portable device based on the first display information, modifying the first arrangement of icons displayed on the display of the portable device to generate a second arrangement of icons, generating second display information based on the second arrangement of icons, and transmitting to the display device a request to display the second arrangement of icons on the display of the display device, the request comprising the second display information.

Abstract: A content reproducing method and system for performing seamless playback of contents between devices is provided. The contents reproducing system includes a portable device which, when a short distance communication with a remote control which is configured to control an electronic device occurs during reproducing of contents, generates data required by the electronic device for reproducing the contents that are being reproduced, and which transmits the generated data to the remote control; the remote control which receives the data from the portable device and which transmits the received data to the electronic device, in conjunction with the occurrence of the short distance communication with the portable device; and the electronic device for receiving the contents from a contents provider and reproducing the contents.

Abstract: A system and method for providing an image are provided. The image providing method includes: transmitting, to an external device, a first video image of a first resolution, which is converted from an original video image of an original resolution; receiving, from the external device, area information about an area of interest of the first video image of the first resolution; determining, based on the area information, an area corresponding to the area of interest, of the original video image of the original resolution, wherein the determined area is smaller than the original video image of the original resolution converting a part of the original video image of the original resolution to a second video image of the first resolution, wherein the part corresponds to the determined area; and transmitting the second video image to the external device.
