Abstract: Provided is a re-authentication apparatus in a Downloadable Conditional Access System (DCAS), the re-authentication apparatus includes: a receiving unit to receive a key request message from a Secure Micro (SM); a determination unit to determine whether to perform re-authentication depending on downloading of SM client image; an identification unit to identify an SM identifier using the key request message, when the re-authentication is performed as a result of the determination; an extraction unit to retrieve previous session information corresponding to the SM identifier and to extract keying information about the previous session information; and an encryption unit to control an encryption key about the SM client image to be reused, the SM client image being encrypted in a previous session based on the previous session information using the keying information.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for providing metadata in advance in order to gain a time required for a receiving terminal to receive augmented content corresponding to the metadata, based on the metadata received over a communication network in a bidirectional digital broadcast. The apparatus may provide a service before a predetermined time for a channel bound service that provides augmented content associated with a broadcast program, or a time-restraint service, such as a quiz program, for which an access to a website may required by a predetermined time. Also, the apparatus may provide metadata of a subsequent program in advance, before a predetermined time when transmitting the broadcast program, whereby a receiving terminal may receive associated information in advance, and a viewer may utilize a website or an augmented content service of a corresponding program, simultaneously with viewing the corresponding program.

Abstract: A method of operating a headend system for a downloadable conditional access service, the method including: receiving, by an Authentication Proxy (AP) server, basic authentication information from a Downloadable Conditional Access System (DCAS) host, the basic authentication information being required to authenticate the DCAS host; transmitting, by the AP server, the basic authentication information to an external trusted authority device which authenticates the DCAS host; generating, by the AP server, a session key for encrypting/decrypting a secure micro client using a session key sharing factor; obtaining, by the AP server, download-related information of the secure micro client from a DCAS Provisioning Server (DPS); and commanding, by the AP server, an Integrated Personalization System (IPS) server to download the secure micro client to the DCAS host based on the download-related information, the secure micro client being encrypted by the session key.

A method of a reception terminal providing supplementary information about content includes receiving content and metadata, extracting an indicator for indicating whether supplementary information about the content exists or not from the metadata, determining whether the supplementary information about the content exists or not based on the indicator, outputting the supplementary information about an appearance element of the content in association with the content based on the metadata, accessing a server for providing the supplementary information about the to appearance element, based on the metadata when an instruction to download the supplementary information about the appearance element is received, and downloading the supplementary information about the appearance element from the server and storing the downloaded supplementary information.

Abstract: A prediction mode determining method in scalable video coding based on a structure of multiple layers is provided. The prediction mode determining method includes: deriving a coded block pattern (CBP) value of a luma component for a 16×16 mode of an encoding target picture; determining first candidate modes for the encoding target picture according to the derived CPB value; and determining a final prediction mode for the encoding target picture based on the determined first candidate modes. According to the present invention, encoding efficiency may be improved, and complexity may be reduced.

A method of detecting a duplicated secure micro, the method including: generating authentication time difference information associated with a value of a difference between a time when a host is finally authenticated in a first address and a time when the host is authenticated in a second address; comparing the authentication time difference information with a first reference value and a second reference value, the second reference value being less than the first reference value; and determining whether the secure micro is duplicated based on a result of the comparing.

Abstract: A scalable video coding apparatus and method for realistic broadcasting are provided. The scalable video coding apparatus may include a spatial scalable coding unit to perform intra-view predictive coding in base layers of a color image and a depth image and prediction in enhancement layers by referencing motion information of the base layer, a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) scalable coding unit to perform coding using quantization which is a method for SNR scalability of the color image, and a motion estimation device to code the base layer of the depth image using the motion information of the base layer of the color image as prediction data.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing an artificial lightweight aggregate containing bottom ash. The method includes the steps of: (a) mixing 100 parts by weight of clay and 10-100 parts by weight of bottom ash to obtain a mixture; (b) extrusion-molding the mixture by using an extruder and cutting the extrusion-molded mixture to form a molded article; (c) drying the molded article by using a rotary drier; and (d) sintering the dried article at 1050-1150° C. for 15-45 minutes to produce the artificial lightweight aggregate. The aggregate produced according to the invention is lightweight, cost-effective, and has uniform water absorption.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for recycling coal ash, and more particularly to an apparatus and method for recycling coal ash, in which the apparatus for recycling coal ash comprises an unburned coal ash recovery unit and a lightweight aggregate manufacturing unit and is provided in an existing thermoelectric power plant and in which coal ash which is generated in the thermoelectric power plant is completely recycled for specific purposes using the coal ash recycling apparatus. According to the invention, the surrounding environment can be prevented from being contaminated during the transportation of waste to a recycling factory and transportation expenses can be reduced. Moreover, coal ash is completely recycled for specific uses, such that unburned carbon contained in the coal ash can be used. Also, coal ash can be recycled even as concrete admixtures having strict standards.
