  • Patent number: 7748102
Abstract: A conduction-cooled superconducting power transmission cable wherein a High-Temperature Superconducting (HTS) wire is surrounded by an inner layer of thermal insulator, one or more layers of high thermal conductivity material, such as copper, and an outer layer of thermal insulator with cryogenic coolant sources distributed along the power transmission cable and coupled to the copper layers or both the copper layers and the HTS wire. The cryogenic coolant sources can be reservoirs, a distribution system of coolant or stand alone refrigeration systems. He H2 or N2 liquid coolant can be used. A method for calculating the parameters to maintain the critical temperature of the HTS wire and a method for calculating the cool down time from ambient conditions are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5577039
Abstract: A system for cross conversion of plesiochronous digital hierarchy (PDH) and asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) data is disclosed. A PDH DS3 signal is received and demultiplexed into 28 DS1 data. ATM adaptation layer modules convert the 28 DS1 data to ATM cell streams. The ATM cell streams are multiplexed into a single ATM MUX cell stream and then multiplexed with another cell stream. A router receives the combined multiplexed cell stream, adds a header field, and outputs an ATM cell. The system functions to also convert the ATM cell data to DS3 PDH data using the same basic components.

  • Patent number: 4983546
Abstract: A method for curing spin-on-glass formed on a wafer film which insulates the metal layers and flattens any step difference in the process for manufacturing a multi-layered metal layer of a highly integrated semiconductor device which comprises establishing a predetermined initial temperature in a heating chamber with an ultraviolet light source. A wafer, on which a SOG film to be cured is formed, is then introdued into the heated chamber and the temperature gradually increased to a predetermined maximum temperature. The SOG film is irradiated with ultraviolet light at a predetermined wavelength simultaneously with the application of heat at the maximum temperature for a predetermined time. The wafer is then cooled.

  • Patent number: 4598610
Abstract: An automatic stepless transmission including a high speed gear system and a distribution gear train. An input of the high speed gear system is distributed by the distribution gear train. A high speed counter gear train and a junction gear train are provided. An output of the high speed gear system is produced through the distribution gear train, the high speed counter gear train and the junction gear train. A low speed gear system, a spring type high and low adjustment gear train and a low speed outer counter gear train are provided. An auxiliary adjustment gear train is operatively connected to the low speed gear system. An inner counter gear train is operatively connected to the low speed gear system.
