  • Patent number: 11941841
Abstract: A computer-implemented method according to one embodiment includes running an initial network on a plurality of images to detect actors pictured therein and body joints of the detected actors. The method further includes running fully-connected networks in parallel, one fully-connected network for each of the detected actors, to reconstruct complete three-dimensional poses of the actors. Sequential model fitting is performed on the plurality of images. The sequential model fitting is based on results of running the initial network and the fully-connected networks. The method further includes determining, based on the sequential model fitting, a locational position for a camera in which the camera has a view of a possible point of collision of two or more of the actors. The camera is instructed to be positioned in the locational position.

  • Publication number: 20230214601
Abstract: Techniques for personalizing an AI automated conversational system are provided. In one aspect, a method for personalizing an automated conversational system includes: making predictions of a familiarity of a user with concepts needed to understand a standard output utterance based on the familiarity of an aggregate of users and a background knowledge model of the concepts and related concepts, wherein the standard output utterance assumes that the concepts are known; and giving, by the automated conversational system, an output utterance that is tailored to the user given the predictions. For instance, the automated conversational system can give the standard output utterance to the user when it is predicted that the user is familiar with the concepts, or a nonstandard output utterance when it is it is predicted that the user is unfamiliar with at least one of the concepts.

  • Patent number: 11269835
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, according to one embodiment, is used to creating customized templates and template recommendations. The computer-implemented method includes: extracting text content from user information which corresponds to a user, and using the text content extracted from the user information to generate feature vectors. The feature vectors are further used to form one or more clusters of existing user editions. For each of the one or more formed clusters, a tree structure is generated for each user edition in the cluster. Moreover, the tree structures in the cluster are combined into a merged tree structure. A customized template is generated for each of the one or more formed clusters using the respective merged tree structure, and at least one of the customized templates is recommended to the user based on the user information.

  • Patent number: 10872202
Abstract: Style sheets for resources are generated during runtime. Style sheets may be generated using current values for attributes of a resource. A new style sheet may be generated, at runtime, after a request for the resource has been received. The resource is modified to reference the new style sheet and the modified resource is transmitted to the client device. The new style sheet is transmitted to the client device in response to another request, from the client device, for the new style sheet identified in the modified resource.

  • Patent number: 10761266
Abstract: A silicon-photonic integrated circuit comprising a direct-bandgap-semiconductor-based active optical device that is epitaxially grown on an indirect-bandgap SOI substrate (108) is disclosed. The structure of the active optical device includes an active region (120) having quantum dots (206) made of InGaAs that are embedded in one or more confinement layers (n-InP, p-InP), where the bandgap of the confinement layers is higher than that of the quantum dots. Further the confinement-layer material is preferably lattice matched to the quantum dot material in order to suppress associated crystalline defects within the material are located away from the center of its bandgap such that they suppress recombination-enhanced defect-reaction-driven degradation of the active optical device.

  • Patent number: 10690725
Abstract: A battery pack management system adjusts the relative state-of-charge of respective battery blocks in a battery pack to equalize (i.e., align, balance or otherwise make similar) the peak battery block voltages (i.e., maximum or “upper peak” battery block voltages when the battery pack is being charged and/or minimum or “lower peak” battery block voltages when the battery is being discharged). Upon detecting an anomalous battery block that exhibits outlier upper and lower peak voltages, the battery pack management system adjusts the relative state of charge of respective battery blocks to center their respective upper and lower peak voltages between operating limits, thus maximizing the operating margin of the battery pack as a whole.
