Publication number: 20240170619Abstract: An electronic device may have a display with an array of pixels. Each pixel may include inorganic light-emitting diodes of the same color such as a blue inorganic light-emitting diode. To emit different colors of light using the same type of inorganic light-emitting diodes, quantum dot layers may be used. Each quantum dot layer may have an associated reflective layer. Each light-emitting diode may also have an associated reflective layer. The reflective layer for the light-emitting diode may conform to the light-emitting diode or may be separated from the light-emitting diode by gap. When the reflective layer is separated from the light-emitting by a gap, the gap may be filled by a quantum dot layer or a diffusive layer.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 28, 2023Publication date: May 23, 2024Inventors: Joy M Johnson, Hairong Tang, Ileana-Georgeta Rau, Jaein Choi, Steven E Molesa, Sunggu Kang, Xia Li, Young Cheol Yang, Young Seok Kim

Patent number: 7315565Abstract: In many systems now in use for sending digital data from a controlled station (e.g., a transmitting station), generally indicated at 10 in FIG. 1, to a controlling station (e.g., a receiving station) generally indicated at 12, a plurality of hopping frequencies are provided. In such systems, a first packet is transmitted from the controlled station 10 to the controlling station 12 at a first one of the hopping frequencies in the plurality. The data in a second one of the packets is then transmitted from the controlled station 10 to the controlling station 12 at a second one of the hopping frequencies. The data in a third one of the packets is subsequently transmitted from the controlled station 10 to the controlling station 12 at a third one of the hopping frequencies.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2006Date of Patent: January 1, 2008Assignee: L-3 Communications Titan CorporationInventor: Young M. Patent number: 7050479Abstract: Successive packets of signals representing data are transmitted at progressive (hopping) frequencies from a controlled (e.g. transmitting) station to a controlling (e.g. receiving) station which processes the signals to recover the data. The frequencies of the signals are selected at the controlling station from a group of frequencies by determining the frequencies in which signals are received by the controlling station from the controlled station at each of the selected frequencies with the highest signal-to-noise ratios. The selection of the frequencies and the prioritization of the selected frequencies for use as the hopping frequencies may be provided once at the beginning of the transmission of data in packets from the controlled station to the controlling station, particularly when the channel conditions are relatively stable. Alternatively, the prioritization may be provided periodically during the transmission of data from the controlled station to the controlling station.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2000Date of Patent: May 23, 2006Assignee: The Titan CorporationInventor: Young M. Patent number: 6990139Abstract: Data at a transmitter is modulated, in accordance with instructions from a receiver, to provide M different modulations in successive sequences. N spreading codes are also provided in successive sequences at the transmitter, in accordance with instructions from the receiver, alternately with the M data modulations. The alternate sequences of the M data modulations and the N spreading codes are paired and individual ones of the M data modulations and the N spreading codes in the paired sequences are combined (e.g. multiplied). Alternatively, an individual one of the M data modulations is combined (e.g. multiplied) with an individual one of the N spreading codes in the adjacent sequence. The modulator and the spreader may be included at the transmitter with (a) a channel encoder which provides channel coding in accordance with instructions from the receiver, (b) a puncturer which removes particular data in accordance with instructions from the receiver and (c) an interleaver.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2004Date of Patent: January 24, 2006Assignee: The Titan CorporationInventors: William C. The paired combinations of the individual ones of the M data modulations and the N spreading codes are transmitted to the receiver, which uses correlation or matched filter techniques to recover each combination of the individual one of the data modulations and the individual one of the spreading codes. A single spreading code may be used instead of the N spreading codes.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 2000Date of Patent: October 4, 2005Assignee: The Titan CorporationInventors: William C. Patent number: 5194396Abstract: There is disclosed a method of fabricating BiCMOS semiconductor devices. External metal lines are not used for connecting the NPN bipolar device and NMOS device, or NPN bipolar device and PMOS device. In this case, the collector and base of the bipolar device are respectively in common with the drain and source of the CMOS. The bipolar transistor is in common with the bulk region of the CMOS, so that the diffusion layer is commonly used in the NPN-PMOS pair, and the diffusion layers of the connecting part are connected together in the NPN-PMOS pair. A metal line is connected to the junction of the diffusion layers, thus decreasing the connecting area of the metal line. Hence, the integrability of the chip is increased, and the metal connection causes a reduction of the RC delay time, thus improving the operational speed.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1991Date of Patent: March 16, 1993Assignee: Korea Electronics and Telecommunications ResearchInventors: Young M.
