  • Patent number: 6787205
Abstract: The invention relates to a coated food paperboard (1), to the manufacturing process and use of the same, and to products obtained thereof. The paperboard (1) comprises one or several fibre material layers (2), such as a three-layer structure consisting of a middle layer (4) of a mixture of sulphate pulp and CTMP and of sulphate pulp layers (5) on both sides of it, and of a polymeric coating (3) getting into contact with food, either on one side or on both sides of the paperboard. According to the invention, the coating (3) consists of an outer layer (6), the melting point of the polymer used in which is at least 230° C., and of an inner layer (7) placed against the fibre material layer (5); in this inner layer, a polymer with a melting point of at least 230° C. is blended with another adhesive polymer, the melting point of which is 130-185° C. Further, the inner layer (7) may be provided with mineral substance, such as calcium carbonate.

  • Patent number: 6531196
Abstract: The invention relates to coated board, a process for its manufacture, and containers and packaging formed therefrom. The board comprises at least one polymer-based coat preventing the transmission of liquids and gases, which coat is according to the invention made from a polymer dispersion to which talc particles are added so that talc will constitute 30-80% of the dry weight of the dried coat. The coating is applied onto the board during its manufacture as on-line coating. The board may be, for example, a multi-layer board (2) which has a middle layer (6) containing CTMP or other similar mechanical pulp, on its both sides outer layers (7) formed from sulfate pulp, against these on both sides of the board (2) talc-containing polymeric barrier layers (3), and on one side of the board a heat sealing layer (9) introduced onto the barrier layer (3).

  • Patent number: 5527579
Abstract: The invention relates to a wood surface layer for a parquet and a method for manufacturing the same. A piece of fresh wood is cut in the cross-grain direction into slices or blocks which are carried through a microwave oven. Immediately downstream of the oven, as the slices or blocks are cooling, the surface thereof is coated with a water-soluble polyalcohol which impregnates in wood as a result of the action of a vacuum developing within the wood. The polyalcohol replaces some of the cell-wall water of wood and thus prevents the formation of seasoning cracks and the moisture induced movements in wood.

  • Patent number: 4490063
Abstract: A telescopic tube, comprising a plurality of relatively sliding tube members (10, 11) fitted within each other. Along a major part (L.sub.0) of their length, the tube members are straight cylindrical tubes whose ends are provided with conical bulges (14, 15), so that one end is provided with an external cone (14) which diverges towards the end and the other end is provided with an internal cone (15) which converges towards the end. The latter end is surrounded by an external annular flange (16). The external and internal conical bulges (14) and (15) of individual tube members (10) and (11) are wedged against each other with friction engagement and keep the telescopic tube in the extended condition.

  • Patent number: 4416036
Abstract: Fastening means for the wrist strap of a ski stick, said means being positioned in a cavity (3) of the knob (2) of a stick handle (1). The fastening means is a removable unit separable from the stick knob and consisting of two plastic elements (5) and (7), between which said wrist strap (4) can be anchored as desired. The plastic elements are discrete elements within which the opposite ends of wrist strap (4) are embedded by molding. One (5) of the elements is anchored by profile locking (10, 11) in anchoring grooves (10) on the walls of cavity (3) in such a position that a wrist strap anchoring point (6) will be on the top face of said element. The other plastic element (7) is wedged into a downwards converging space between the wall of cavity (3) and the first plastic element (5) in such a position that another wrist strap anchoring point (8) will be on the lower face of the first element.

  • Patent number: 4288101
Abstract: A handle for mounting directly on the upper end of a ski stick comprising a fitting element, a curved extension extending above the fitting element, the curved extension having a cavity space containing a buckle for longitudinally, adjustably fastening a wriststrap. An outlet for the wriststrap is in a convex side of the curved extension. The convex side extends up above the outlet to provide a relatively high face surface, the direction of the center axis of the curved extension forming an angle of between 15.degree. to 40.degree. with respect to the center line of the stick portion.

  • Patent number: 4288100
Abstract: A wrist strap and buckle arrangement is constructed as a separately removable member to be contained within a cavity space formed in the handle of a ski pole. One end of the wrist strap is permanently secured in a frame portion of the buckle and the other end of the wrist strap is freely lockable as desired between a locking lever of the buckle and the frame portion. An intermediate portion of the wrist strap extends exteriorly of the handle through a slot leading from the cavity space. The wrist strap is free of any adjustment means therealong which could gall the hand of the skier. The buckle locking lever is positioned in the open end of the cavity space so that the adjustment operation is easy to carry out.
