  • Patent number: 6743038
Abstract: A zero insertion force connector basing on surface contact having a connector base with multiple connecting terminals installed thereon in array form, a sliding cover, and a clamping lever for securing the sliding cover in position. Each connecting terminal is appropriately bent at the lower end to form a contact surface, so that when the connector is placed on a substrate, each connecting terminal is matched by a corresponding solder pad leading to the internal circuit inside the substrate. With only a small amount of applied force to join the connecting terminals onto the substrate by soldering, the connector can thus be mounted onto the substrate with reliability.

  • Patent number: 6736660
Abstract: A memory module connector for horizontal insertion is disclosed. The device is formed by a long and narrow connector body, which has a horizontally directed connector slot on the lengthwise section, and the connector body has multiple terminal posts having a right-angle bent in the middle section to form an inverted “L” shape structure. One end of each terminal post is lined on the inner wall of the connector slot with a matching pair on opposing slot walls, and the other end of each terminal sticks out from the bottom of the connector body and penetrates the corresponding position on the motherboard. According to the connector design of the present invention, memory module can be inserted into the motherboard in horizontal direction, allowing for close fitting in enclosure with height or thickness limitations.

The connector is characterized in that each connecting terminal is appropriately bent at the lower end to form a contact plate, so that when the connector is placed on a substrate, each connecting terminal is matched by a corresponding solder pad leading to the internal circuit inside the substrate, and with only a small amount of applied force to join the connecting terminals onto the substrate by soldering, the connector can thus be mounted onto the substrate with reliability.

  • Patent number: 6705883
Abstract: An electrical connector for electrically connecting a CPU to a main board includes a base covered with a cover. The cover has a periphery defining an indentation therein and is formed with two pairs of tabs extending towards the base. The cover and the base are connected in a manner of allowing the cover to be movable on the base. A rotor is situated between the cover and the base near the periphery of the cover. The rotor has a middle portion and a pair of radial cams. The middle portion is provided with a slot and positioned in the indentation of the cover, and the cams have a profile designed to engage with the tabs of the cover. Therefore, the cover can be moved relative to the base when the rotor is turned by any tool extending into the slot of the middle portion.

  • Patent number: 6695630
Abstract: A connector assembly for a memory module includes a body having two standing pivot seats and two fasteners pivotally connected to the two pivot seats respectively. Each standing pivot seat has two recessed guides and two through pivot holes communicating with two recessed guides. Each fastener has a front and rear wall. Each front and rear wall has a protruding detent and a pivot pin. The protruding detents and the pivot pins correspond to the two recessed guides respectively. The pivot pins are inserted into the two through pivot holes when the fastener is mounted in the standing pivot seat so the fastener can pivot in the standing pivot seat to easily mount the memory module. In addition, the protruding detents press against the two recessed guides to hold the position of the fastener in the standing pivot seat, so the fastener can securely hold the memory module.

  • Patent number: 6672888
Abstract: A clamp assembly for an AGP display interface card includes a connector and a seat extending from one end of a socket in which an AGP display interface card is mounted. The connector is securely connected to the seat and includes a latch and a resilient look to clamp a hook on the AGP display interface card. The latch holds the hook in the connector, and the resilient loop presses against the hook to keep the hook pressed against the latch when the AGP display interface card is mounted in the socket. Therefore the AGP display interface card is stably mounted in the socket and is easily removed from the socket by releasing the connector.
