Abstract: In an image forming apparatus including an image reading unit, an image forming unit, and a column support portion supports the image reading unit in a cantilever manner so that a space is provided between the image reading unit and an upper surface of the image forming unit, and receives the image reading unit at an upper surface and a side surface thereof. Further, the image reading unit may be provided with a downwardly extending portion extending downward from a lower surface thereof, and the column support portion may receive the lower surface of the image reading unit at the upper surface thereof, and receive the downwardly extending portion of the image reading unit at the side surface thereof.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a rotary type developing device having multiple developers provided so as to be rotatable; an image forming unit including the rotary type developing device disposed therein; an image reading unit disposed above the image forming unit; and supporting members for supporting the image reading unit movably. The center of gravity of the rotary type developing device is located toward one side with respect to the center position of the image forming unit, and the center of gravity of the image reading unit moves to the other side as the image reading unit supported by the supporting members is moved.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus is disclosed wherein an image reading portion is provided in spaced relationship with a top surface of an image forming portion. Further, in the apparatus: a supporting column portion is standingly provided on the image forming portion for supporting the image reading portion in a cantilevered manner; a tubular duct portion is provided inside the supporting column portion with an axial direction being substantially a vertical direction; an exhaust port is provided at the supporting column portion for exhausting air of the duct portion; and an intake port is provided below the exhaust port for delivering air from inside the image forming portion to the duct portion.

Abstract: An image forming device having an image reading section which is supported in a cantilevered state with a space between the image reading section and a top surface of an image forming section, the image forming device including: a housing of the image forming section; and a first supporting body fixed to a side surface of the housing and supporting the image reading section, wherein the first supporting body has: a first supporting portion fixed to the side surface of the housing and supporting the image reading section; and a second supporting portion extending from the first supporting portion in a same direction as the image reading section which is supported in the cantilevered state, and a receiving portion, which fixes the second supporting portion, and is provided at the side surface of the housing.
