  • Publication number: 20060109980
Abstract: A portable wireless communication device with enhanced ability to capture speech. The portable wireless communication device may be configured to include: a main housing having a microphone in its lower portion; a movable housing having a speaker in its upper portion; a sliding mechanism for guiding the movable housing so that it freely slides longitudinally along a sliding plane on the main housing, wherein the main housing uniformly becomes thin from its lower portion through to its upper portion; and the sliding plane is inclined from the lower portion through to the upper portion of the main housing. This configuration enables the movable housing to slide along the main housing, shortening the distance between the microphone and the speaker's mouth, thereby improving the ability of the microphone to capture speech.

  • Patent number: 6315801
Abstract: An electrode plate for a secondary battery with a nonaqueous electrolyte composed of a collector and an active material layer which is formed of at least an active material and a binder disposed on the collector, and the electrode plate is provided with a terminal mounting portion provided with a collector surface exposed to mount a terminal. In such electrode plate, the exposed collector surface of the terminal mounting portion has the same shape and size substantially as those of an area to which the terminal is actually mounted. The electrode plate may further be provided with an identification mark made by forming the active material layer in shape of pattern on an area at which the collector surface is exposed or by exposing the collector surface in the shape of pattern on an area at which the collector is covered with the active material layer.

  • Patent number: 6162264
Abstract: A porous coating layer formed on a substrate is impregnated, based on a prescribed pattern, with liquid material having a larger cohesion after solidification thereof than that of the coating layer. The liquid material is solidified to form a solidified material. Then, a portion of the coating layer, which has been impregnated with the solidified material is peeled to expose partially the surface of the substrate on the basis of the prescribed pattern, thereby producing the porous coating layer having the prescribed pattern. An electrode plate for a secondary battery with a nonaqueous electrolyte can be produced by utilizing the above-mentioned production process.

  • Patent number: 6152971
Abstract: The present invention provides an electrode plate for a secondary battery with a nonaqueous electrolyte, and a process for producing same capable of forming accurately and economically the active material layer on the collector surface. The process comprises the steps of: (1) applying a peelable material on a predetermined area of a collector surface, and drying same to form a peelable layer; (2) applying an electrode forming composition comprising an active material and a binder on the collector surface to form an active material layer lying over at least one area of the peelable layer previously formed; and (3) peeling the peelable layer from a collector together with a portion of the active material layer disposed on the peelable layer to partially expose the collector surface, thereby forming a noncoated portion having a predetermined pattern on the collector surface.

  • Patent number: 6045947
Abstract: An electrode plate for a secondary battery with nonaqueous electrolyte comprises a collector and a coated layer formed on the collector by coating a coating solution at least containing an electrode active material and a binder on the collector and then drying the same, wherein a ratio (b/a) of an amount (b) of a binder existing at a boundary portion of the coated layer on a side opposite to a collector side to an amount (a) of a binder existing at a boundary portion of the coated layer contacting the collector is 0.05 or more and less than 2. The manufacturing method of the electrode plate comprises the step of forming a coated layer having a predetermined thickness by repeating at least two times of coating and drying processes for coating the coating solution, wherein a thickness of a coated layer formed in a second time or more than second time coating and drying processes is increased by an amount in a range of 0.4 to 1.
