  • Patent number: 6072112
Abstract: An electronic percussion instrument has a covering section 7A for covering the rim switch 5 on the outer periphery of a pad member 7 and a switch compression section 13 and two grooves 14 are provided on the back surface of the covering section 7A. In the switch compression section 13, a pressing surface 13a is made into a curved surface protruding towards the rim switch 5. The result is that striking forces for pressing the rim switch 5 are concentrated on the switch compression section 13 so as to enable to reliably and effectively transmit the forces to the rim switch 5 by elastic deformation of the switch compression section 13, regardless of the hitting direction of the drumstick on the rim section.

  • Patent number: 5969281
Abstract: A rotation-preventing assembly for preventing rotation of a percussion musical instrument such as a cymbal mounted on a musical instrument stand comprising a fastening member, which is fastened to a holder main body of the stand, and a rotation-preventing member, which is attached to the fastening member. The upper end of the rotation-preventing member is inserted from below into a hole formed in, for instance, a cymbal held on the holder, thus preventing horizontal rotation of the cymbal about the holder.

  • Patent number: 5965834
Abstract: An electronic cymbal (10) has a first cymbal unit (12) for normal playing and a second cymbal unit (13) for cup playing which are vertically separated and attached to a common instrument holder (11). The second cymbal unit (13) of a smaller size than the first cymbal unit (12) is positioned above the first cymbal unit (12) with an intervening felt washer (22). Transducers (15, 19) are provided on the back surface of respective cymbal units (12, 13).

  • Patent number: 5837915
Abstract: An electronic drum has a drum pad beaten with sticks and a pad structure, a sensor board attached to the pad structure and an piezoelectric element attached to the sensor board form in combination the drum pad; the sensor board is formed of cellular vinyl chloride with an internal loss or tangent-delta equal to or greater than 0.02 so that the vibrations propagated to the sensor board have a constant amplitude.
