  • Patent number: 11849159
Abstract: A video streaming device that divides a video in which a plurality of viewing directions are defined into divided data pieces and distributes each of the divided data pieces in a chronological order. The video streaming device includes: a prediction unit that refers to information indicating the viewing direction of a viewer for each of the divided data pieces with respect to multiple views of the video in the past, and predicts, for a terminal playing the video, the viewing direction of a user of the terminal in a first divided data piece that is undistributed; and a streaming unit that distributes the first divided data piece to the terminal by setting an area corresponding to the viewing direction predicted by the prediction unit to be in a relatively high image quality among selectable image qualities. Thereby, probability of viewing the video of a low image quality is decreased.

  • Patent number: 11671654
Abstract: A video quality estimation device for estimating a quality experienced by a user in a tile-based video distribution service in which a video is divided into tiles and distributed includes a video quality parameter extraction unit that extracts a first parameter representing a quality of a first tile and a second parameter representing qualities of one or more second tiles, from a received tile-based video; and a video quality estimation unit that estimates a quality of the tile-based video by using the first parameter and the second parameter.

  • Publication number: 20230099593
Abstract: A video quality estimation device for estimating quality to be experienced by a user during viewing of a video includes a video quality estimation unit that calculates a video quality estimation value based on a parameter related to video quality of a high image quality region in the video, a parameter related to video quality of a low image quality region in the video, and a parameter related to a time for switching from a low image quality display state to a high image quality display state.

  • Publication number: 20230078062
Abstract: A VR video encoding parameter calculation device includes a quality estimation unit configured to calculate an overall quality estimation value of a VR video for an individual encoding parameter of a plurality of encoding parameters and a VR video parameter extraction unit configured to extract an encoding parameter corresponding to the overall quality estimation value that satisfies given target quality from the plurality of encoding parameters.

  • Publication number: 20220343485
Abstract: A video quality estimation apparatus for estimating an experienced quality of a user when viewing a video includes a video quality estimation unit that estimates a video quality based on a parameter related to video quality of a high image quality region in the video and a parameter related to video quality of a low image quality region in the video, an audio quality estimation unit that estimates audio quality from a parameter related to audio quality of the video, an audio-visual quality/quality variation integration unit that estimates audio-visual quality based on a video quality estimation value estimated by the video quality estimation unit and an audio quality estimation value estimated by the audio quality estimation unit, a degradation amount estimation unit that estimates a degradation amount of the experienced quality based on a parameter related to the stop of replay of the video, the degradation being caused by a stop of replay, and a quality integration unit that estimates the experienced qualit
