  • Publication number: 20090119596
Abstract: A viewer apparatus displays, on a display screen, a slideshow of still image data recorded on a recording medium. The viewer apparatus includes a layout determination unit 3 for allocating a display area, on the display screen, to each display-level folder located directly under a target folder, the target folder being any of folders in a hierarchical tree on the recording medium, a slideshow list generation unit 5 for selecting, as a slideshow target, still image data that belongs to one of (i) the display-level folder and (ii) a subordinate folder located below the display-level folder and a slideshow control unit 8 for executing a plurality of slideshows for the selected still image data in the display areas allocated to each of the display-level folders located above each of the still image data.

  • Publication number: 20060156355
Abstract: A reproduction apparatus that, when a same content is recorded in the HDD 1 and the SD card 102, allows the user to reproduce the content in one of the recording mediums to a certain viewing position and resume the reproduction of the content in the other recording medium from the certain viewing position (resume position), without causing the user to view a portion of the content redundantly. When the SD card 102 is inserted into the reproduction apparatus, the resume information of the HDD 1 and the SD card 102 is updated to synchronize the viewing position of the HDD 1 with the viewing position of the SD card 102, allowing the user to resume reproduction from the viewing position indicated by the updated resume information and saving the user from viewing a portion redundantly.

  • Publication number: 20040252982
Abstract: A recording apparatus, allowing a user to view video data while dubbing of other video data, which requires the actual time of the video data, is executed. The recording apparatus comprises a view buffer, and an encode buffer. A MPEG2 decoder decodes a VOBU for dubbing and a VOBU for viewing in parallel by time-sharing, writes the decoded VOBU for dubbing into the encode buffer, and writes the decoded VOBU for viewing into the view buffer. A MPEG2 encoder encodes the decoded VOBU for dubbing stored in the encode buffer. The MPEG2 decoder performs the decoding and the writing at a higher processing rate than a display rate for reproduction. A display control unit reads and reproduces, at the display rate, the decoded VOBU for viewing which is written into the view buffer at the higher processing rate.

  • Publication number: 20030123853
Abstract: A GUI generating unit displays a GUI screen listing a plurality of sets of video content. A playback controlling unit performs a playback operation on a set of video content which is selected by a user on the GUI screen, and keeps a history of a playback start position and a playback stop position. A GUI updating unit updates the GUI screen and displays it, after the playback operation by the playback controlling unit. To update the GUI screen, a thumbnail generating unit chooses a plurality of pieces of picture data from between the playback start position and the playback stop position in the set of video content, and places thumbnails of these pieces of picture data on the GUI screen.
