  • Patent number: 6003001
Abstract: In encoding in which an adaptive codebook such as PSI-CELP or a fixed codebook is used on switching selection, waveform distortion caused by selection of the fixed codebook in case input speech frequency components are changed significantly is diminished. An output of an adaptive codebook 21 or an output of a fixed codebook 22 is selected by a changeover selection switch 26 and summed to an output of noise codebooks 23, 24 so as to be sent to a linear prediction synthesis filter 16. A switching control circuit 19 for controlling the switching of a changeover control switch 26 operates in response to a prediction gain which is a ratio of the linear prediction residual energy to the initial signal energy from a linear prediction analysis circuit 14 so that, if the prediction gain is smaller than a pre-set threshold value, the switching control circuit 19 judges the input signal to be voiced and controls the changeover control switch 26 for compulsorily selecting the output of the adaptive codebook 21.

  • Patent number: 5953630
Abstract: Provided herein is a CVD method and apparatus for the deposition of tungsten in which formation of a film of tungsten material is suppressed at the peripheral edge of the semiconductor substrate. In accordance with the invention, a halogenide purge gas is supplied to the peripheral edge of the processing face of a semiconductor wafer during the chemical vapor deposition of tungsten. The halogenide purge gases interact with the processing gases and form a passivation film at the peripheral edge of the semiconductor wafer which suppresses or prevents the formation of a film of tungsten material on the edge surface. Consequently, CMP can be applied to the tungsten semiconductor wafer, and particles of the tungsten material, etc., are not generated from the intense polishing of the peripheral edge of the wafer. Therefore, an uncontaminated tungsten-coated semiconductor wafer with a precise multilayer electrode wiring structure can be manufactured in large volume and favorable yields.

  • Patent number: 5839110
Abstract: An input speech signal is compressed and encoded by a speech encoding unit 3 and sent to an RF transmission processing unit 4 where it is channel-encoded, modulated and transmission-processed so as to be transmitted over an antenna 11. A signal received over the antenna 11 is reception-processed, demodulated and channel-decoded so as to be expanded and decoded a speech decoding unit 6. A recording/playback control unit 8 controls writing of a signal from the speech encoding unit 3 to a semiconductor memory 7 or readout of a signal from the semiconductor memory 7 to the speech encoding unit 3. This enables the semiconductor memory 7 to be efficiently utilized in single/dual communication without increasing the circuit construction.

  • Patent number: 5561363
Abstract: A state of a plurality of switches for performing application and cutoff of a plurality of electrical loads is stored in a memory circuit. A pattern of supply power after application of the load for each of the plurality of electrical loads and a load response priority order assigned previously to each of the electrical loads are stored in a memory table. A control circuit identifies a newly applied load on the basis of the turned-on state of the plurality of switches stored in the memory circuit and instructs an electric power supply circuit to supply electric power in accordance with the supply power pattern corresponding to the identified load, while the control circuit prohibits application of the newly applied electrical load when an electrical load having the load response priority order higher than that of the newly applied electrical load has been already applied. The memory table may store consumption power and an application priority order assigned previously to each of the electrical loads.
