  • Patent number: 7852024
Abstract: A vehicle mirror device includes a drive unit to turn a mirror unit with respect to a base unit. The drive unit includes a motor and a control circuit. The motor is driven with a battery voltage. A current supply to the motor is cut OFF when a motor current flowing in the motor exceeds a threshold, and the control circuit changes the threshold depending on the battery voltage.

  • Patent number: 7759892
Abstract: A vehicle mirror device includes a base unit configured to be fixed to a vehicle, a body unit that includes a mirror and is rotatably attached to the base unit, and a driving unit that drives the body unit to rotate with respect to the base unit. The driving unit includes a motor that drives the body unit to rotate, a current detecting circuit that detects current fluctuation due to rotation of the motor, and a switching circuit that switches ON or OFF current supply to the motor. While current fluctuation is detected, the switching circuit keeps current supply to the motor ON. While no current fluctuation is detected, the switching circuit switches OFF current supply to the motor.

  • Publication number: 20080055758
Abstract: A mirror apparatus for use in a vehicle includes a base member that is used for fixing to the vehicle and a main member that is pivotably attached to the base member. The main member includes a mirror, a motor that performs pivoting of the main member with respect to the base member, and a voltage regulating unit that regulates a voltage received from an outside power supply to a constant voltage, and supplies the constant voltage to the motor to drive the motor.

  • Patent number: 6132050
Abstract: A rearview mirror system for vehicles comprises a plurality of base-housing sets adapted for a variety of car body styles, each of the sets comprising a base and a housing incorporating a mirror and adapted for the base, the set being to be installed to the right of the car body; a plurality of base-housing sets adapted for a variety of car body styles, each of the sets comprising a base and a housing incorporating a mirror and adapted for the base, the set being to be installed to the left of the car body; and a plurality of positioning units each coupled to each of the base-housing sets to turn the housing to a viewing position where the housing protrudes laterally from the car body and the mirror gives the driver a necessary rearview to one of parking positions where the housing is directed toward the car tail or the car head.

  • Patent number: 5426813
Abstract: A wiper for an outside mirror including a mirror housing supporting tiltably a mirror holder to which a mirror proper is fixed, comprising an endless circumferentially moving belt so disposed generally along the circumference of the mirror proper as not to overlie the reflecting surface of the mirror proper, a plurality of pulleys so disposed as to have the circumferentially moving belt threaded thereon, and a string disposed along the reflecting surface of the mirror proper and which is connected at one end thereof to the circumferentially moving belt and at the other end to a tensioner which imparts a tension to the spring. When one of the pulleys is rotated, the circumferentially moving belt is rotated, the tensed string slides in contact with the mirror surface to wipe the latter.
