Abstract: [Problem] The present invention has as an object to reduce the occurrence of jamming of sheet within a sheet handling device. [Solution] The sheet handling device comprises an input/output section having the function of stacking sheets and configured to accept and dispense sheets from the sheet handling device; a storing unit configured to store sheets; a transport path allocated between the storing unit and the input/output section and configured to transport sheets; a determination section allocated on the transport path and configured to determine transport condition of sheets being transported; and a controller that, in the event that the determination section determines improper transport condition of a sheet being transported from the storing unit to the input/output section by the transport path, controls the transport path so as to store the sheet in the storing unit.

Abstract: An automated teller machine having a customer operation part, a deposit/payment port to put into bills, a distinction part which distinguishes bill, storages which stores bill, a storage box which keeps bill decided to be true bill at the distinction part among bills put into the deposit/payment port, and a main control part which pays out bills from the storages with true bills kept in the storage box, stores rejected bills in the storage box when the amount of money put into the deposit/payment port is greater than the amount input at the customer operation part. The machine idle-rotates a drum type temporary storage box without winding bill when the amount of true bill is greater than the payment amount input at the customer operation part.

In a bill handling apparatus including a bill deposit/withdrawal port for depositing/withdrawing bills, a bill discrimination section for discriminating bills, a temporary storage box for temporarily storing bills, a deposit box for accepting reject bills and bills other than pertinent bill kinds, bill acceptance boxes for accepting the pertinent bill kinds, bill transport paths for transporting bills, and a main control section for controlling the whole apparatus, the number of bills that can be deposited is increased by providing a section for counting bills transported to the deposit box and a section for temporarily stopping bill separation from the temporary storage box.

Abstract: It is intended to make possible informing, at the time of maintenance for regular inspection or the like, personnel in charge of any part where a trouble is predictable to enable them to perform inspection or maintenance before the trouble occurs and thereby to reduce the duration the failure of the apparatus. A bill handling apparatus is provided with a conveyance path for conveying bills among a deposit/withdrawal unit, bill boxes, a rejected bill box and a temporary stocking box, wherein sensors for detecting passage of the bills are arranged on the conveyance path, and there are further provided a conveyance monitoring/control unit for monitoring a conveyance status of the bills in each of sensor sections on the conveyance path on the basis of front end passage times and rear end passage times of the bills at the sensors and a display device for perceivably outputting a result of monitoring by the conveyance monitoring/control unit.
