  • Patent number: 5946001
Abstract: Output apparatus that converts vector font data into dot font data in accordance with a change in output resolution has a first memory to store dot font data and a second memory to store vector font data. A change instruction circuit can instruct a change of output resolution. Whether dot font data of an output resolution corresponding to the change exists in the first memory is discriminated and a converter converts the vector font data in the second memory into the dot font data according to the changed output resolution on the basis of the instruction from the change instruction circuit and the result of the discrimination.

  • Patent number: 5610646
Abstract: An image forming apparatus comprises image information which outputs a sync signal and means generated image information synchronously with the sync signal; image forming means form an image on the basis of the image information at either one of a plurality of resolutions and which generates a sync request signal to request a transmission of the sync signal; and a resolution changeover means. When the image forming unit received the resolution change over request signal before the sync request signal is generated, the image forming unit executes the switching operation of the resolution, and if the image forming unit received the resolution changeover request signal after the sync request signal had been generated, the image forming unit does not execute the switching operation of the resolution.

  • Patent number: 5361329
Abstract: There is disclosed a data processing apparatus capable of providing a desired output print regardless of the size of print data by modifying the density of the print. For this purpose there is provided a processing unit for determining the print density based on data associated with the printing medium used in a printing unit.

  • Patent number: 5327170
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a print data input device for inputting print data, a processor for performing data-processing of the print data, and an output device for outputting the processed print data as image data to an image forming unit. The processor includes a first setting device for setting line direction data representing a line direction, a second setting device for setting character direction data representing character direction, and a third setting device for setting line feed direction data representing line feed direction. The processor determines a processing mode of the inputted print data on the basis of the line direction data, the character direction data, and the line feed direction data.

  • Patent number: 5045869
Abstract: Printing is performed with the higher one of the two resolutions designated for text data and image data if these resolutions are different from each other. If in this case the resolution designated for the text data is changed, character patterns based the an optimum number of constituent dots are selected for printing of characters of the designated size in accordance with the text data. If the resolution of the image data is changed, the image data is interpolated.

  • Patent number: 4264120
Abstract: A beam scanning device provided with a beam generator to generate beam, a deflector to deflect the beam, and a beam detector to detect the deflected beam. In this beam scanning device, while the beam detector is detecting the beam with a definite cycle, the beam generator is so controlled that the beam may be generated therefrom with such definite cycle, and the beam is constantly generated from the beam generator when the beam detector becomes unable to detect the beam with such definite cycle. By thus controlling the beam generation, the beam detection can be carried out rapidly, even when the cycle for the beam detection shifts or noises enter during the beam detection.
