  • Patent number: 7035196
Abstract: A semiconductor laser element has the following configuration: a dual-wavelength monolithic laser where semiconductor lasers with emission wavelengths of 650 nm and 780 nm are integrated on one chip is soldered on a heat sink which then is soldered on a can package. Two beam emission points of the semiconductor laser element are positioned so that beam spots, formed on an optical disk, of light beams emitted from the two semiconductor lasers are aligned substantially along a pit-row direction in the optical disk. Thus, an optical head device and an optical recording and reproducing apparatus can be obtained that can record information on or reproduce recorded information from optical information recording media with different optical characteristics and recording densities from one another and that do not cause instability in tracking servo operation.

  • Patent number: 6905368
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a pin connector and a socket connector. The pin connector has a plurality of pin contacts, a required number of grand contacts and a block for holding the pin and ground contacts. The socket connector has a plurality of socket contacts, a required number of ground contacts and a housing for holding the socket and ground contacts. The block and housing are each formed from an insulating plastic material and formed with contact insertion apertures into which the contacts are inserted and fixed. Further, the block and housing each have metallized surfaces around the contact insertion apertures in a manner to electrically insulate these contact insertion apertures for pin and socket contacts independently from one another. The electrical connector thus constructed is easily and economically manufactured while being capable of achieving sufficient shielding effect leading to sufficiently high speed transmission.

  • Patent number: 6747939
Abstract: A semiconductor laser device is provided which can carry out recording and reproduction with respect to optical disks with different formats. In this semiconductor laser device, a receiving/emitting optics integrated substrate, in which two semiconductor laser elements with different emission wavelengths and a plurality of receiving optics are integrated, is disposed in a case and is sealed with a hologram element. A composite prism is placed on the hologram element. The distances, when measured in air, from the two semiconductor laser elements to a focusing means, for example, a collimator lens are set to be substantially equal. Thus, a small and inexpensive semiconductor laser device can be obtained. In addition, a single collimator lens can be employed, and thus the optical configuration is facilitated.

  • Patent number: 6024613
Abstract: A socket contact includes a connection portion, a fixing portion, contact portions and connecting portions for connecting the contact portions to the fixing portion. The center axis of the contact portions are shifted from the fixing portion by bending the connecting portions in their planes. In producing the socket contact, a blank material is punched to form a flat socket contact whose two contact pieces arranged in parallel with each other are then bent inwardly to form a U-shaped form. Thereafter, connecting portions of the two contact pieces are bent in the planes of the connecting portions. This socket contact fulfills the requirement with respect to the miniaturization of connectors with very narrow pitches. There is no longer any risk of the distal end of a mating contact contacting the bottom surface of the fixing portion of the socket contact, so that the assembling of the connector becomes easy and the stable contact between the socket and mating contacts can be obtained.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes a plug connector and a receptacle connector to be fitted with each other. The plug connector includes a number of metal contact layers alternately formed on both sides of a flexible insulating plate, and a plug housing of an insulator for holding and fixing the insulating plate. Each of the metal contact layers has a contact portion and a tail portion, the former being thinner than the latter for maintaining the flexibility and electric conductivity of the former and maintaining the mechanical strength of the latter. The receptacle connector includes a receptacle housing of an insulator having a fitting groove into which the metal contact layers together with the insulating plate are inserted, and receptacle contacts made of worked elastic metal pieces mounted alternately on both sides of the fitting groove correspondingly to the metal contact layers of the plug connector.

  • Patent number: 5682132
Abstract: A vibrating module for generating a mainly non-audible alert signal comprises a vibrating mass supported by at least one spring and having a weight and a magnet. A drive coil is supported by a coil frame for placing the vibrating mass in a continuous reciprocating motion close to a resonant frequency determined by the vibrating mass and the spring. An electrical signal supplying device supplies an electrical signal to the drive coil to vibrate the vibrating mass in a linear reciprocating motion. A vibration transmitting device transmits the vibration of the vibrating mass via the spring to an outer portion of the vibrating module to generate a mainly non-audible alert signal.

  • Patent number: 5543440
Abstract: A process for producing a powdered carboxyl-containing polymer comprising mixing a solution of a water-insoluble polymer containing a carboxyl group per molecule in a hydrophilic organic solvent (e.g., ethanol) and an aqueous solution of a dispersant comprising a neutralized copolymer of a carboxyl-containing unsaturated monomer and a (meth)acrylic ester to precipitate the water-insoluble polymer. Fine polymer particles free from adhesion or agglomeration are obtained efficiently. Since any residual unreacted carboxyl-containing monomers are dissolved out in water as a precipitating solvent, the resulting powdered polymer has a reduced residual content of the unreacted monomers which may be poisonous and is therefore useful as a base resin of cosmetics or a coating resin for applications involving contact with the skin.

  • Patent number: 5491512
Abstract: A solid state image sensor comprising a matrix of photosensitive elements adapted to accumulate signal charges corresponding to at least two different aspect ratios, a plurality of vertical shift registers disposed adjacent to columns of the photosensitive elements for a vertical transfer of the signal charges and a plurality of horizontal shift registers corresponding to the respective aspect ratios and disposed in parallel with each other for a horizontal transfer of the signal charges from the vertical shift registers. As a horizontal shift register exclusive to each aspect ratio is provided in the above manner, it is no longer necessary to superimpose the signal outputs of a plurality of buffer amplifiers so that a picture signal corresponding to the desired aspect ratio can be easily read out.

  • Patent number: 5326282
Abstract: A miniature multiple electrical connector consists of a plug connector and a receptacle connector having an insulating block and a metal shell. The metal shell is fixed to the insulating block by fitting anchoring protrusions provided along both sides of the insulating block in anchoring apertures of fixing tongues provided on the metal shell. When the plug connector is being inserted into the receptacle connector, the metal shell of the receptacle connector is likely to be deformed by a metal shell of the plug connector. In order to prevent such a deformation of the metal shell, there is provided means for anchoring the center of the metal shell weakest in mechanical strength to the insulating block or means for preventing application of a force to the center of the metal shell when the plug connector is being inserted into the receptacle connector.
