  • Patent number: 11513999
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for archiving image, audio, and text data with metadata encapsulation in a client-server storage library is described. The server receives and holds the images, audio, or text to be archived in an image, audio or text logical partition which includes a directory of the images, audio, or text. The information is encapsulated in a metadata wrapper and stored in the library as a closed image, audio, or text file along with a closed copy of the directory. The closed image, audio, or text directory is also stored in the client. The images may be encapsulated in MXF, DICOM, Tape Archive (TAR) or GZIP formats. The storage library may have magnetic tapes, magnetic disks or optical disks as storage media.

  • Patent number: 11034774
Abstract: Presented herein are novel phosphotyrosine binding compositions, including antibodies and antibody fragments. The inventors of the present disclosure have resolved the crystal structures of two widely utilized pan-specific pY antibodies, PY20 and 4G10. These two known antibodies, although developed independently from animal immunizations, have surprisingly similar modes of recognition of the phosphate group, and revealed a generic binding structure among pan-specific pY antibodies. Based on this newly discovered convergent structure, engineered CDR-L3 loops were developed that impart greatly improved affinity to pY binding antibodies and other pY binding compositions. The inventions disclosed herein include antibodies and antibody fragments bearing these novel CDR-L3 sequences and methods of using such pY binding compositions for the detection of phosphotyrosine-bearing proteins.

  • Patent number: 8838932
Abstract: An approach to power economization in a spoke and hub environment is presented. When a hub receives a data set from a first spoke, the hub writes the data set to a first partition that is associated with the first spoke. After the data transfer is complete, the hub powers down the first partition. If the first spoke sends additional data transfers to the hub while the first partition is powered down, the hub stores the additional data transfers in a second partition. When the first partition is powered up again, the hub moves the data intended for the first partition and that was stored in the second partition. The data is moved from the second partition to the first partition. The hub may monitor the size of the addition data transfers. If the data transfer is large, the hub may power up the first partition, write the data in the first partition, and move to the first partition any data that was intended for the first partition but written to the second partition while the first partition was powered down.

  • Patent number: 8516297
Abstract: A copy export application implemented in a computational device receives a request to perform a copy export operation of data and metadata to a selected tape in a tape library coupled to the computational device. The copy export application copies the data from the computational device to the selected tape. The copy export application determines a medium error on the selected tape while copying the metadata from the computational device to the selected tape, subsequent to completion of the copying of the data from the computational device to the selected tape. The copy export application sends a request to a tape control application to replace the selected tape by a new tape and copy the data from the selected tape to the new tape. The copy export application copies the metadata to the new tape.

  • Patent number: 8234464
Abstract: A hybrid data storage system is one which has data storage clusters of different types. In a hybrid data storage system, at least one first data storage cluster is configured to store data and has high data storage capacity; and at least one second data storage cluster is configured to store data and has lower data storage capacity than the first cluster. The data is initially replicated and stored by at least one first and at least one second data storage cluster. The method identifies a portion of the stored initially replicated data of at least one second data storage cluster as “pinned”; continues to store the pinned initially replicated data; and selectively removes non-pinned initially replicated data from the second data storage cluster(s) to account for the capacity difference.

  • Patent number: 7926069
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for providing a network interface to a small computer system interface (“SCSI”) storage device driver. The method includes detecting an event in one of a storage device and a SCSI device driver of the storage device and comparing an event identifier associated with the event to a list of event identifiers. The method includes suspending an application in communication with the storage device through the SCSI device driver and sending a request associated with the event to a remote event manager over a transaction control protocol/Internet protocol (“TCP/IP”) connection, each in response to the event identifier matching a listed event identifier. The method includes receiving a response related to the event from the remote event manager over a TCP/IP connection. The method includes resuming the application after sending the response to the storage device through the SCSI device driver or failing the application.
