Abstract: An electrically conductive gasket for use with an electrical component, including an electrically conductive base defining a central opening therein for receiving a portion of an electrical component, a first row of spaced apart resilient conductive tabs arranged around the central opening, and a second row of spaced apart resilient conductive tabs arranged around the central opening, the first row being located inside the second row. The conductive tabs in the first and second rows of the spaced apart resilient conductive tabs extend outwardly from the conductive base and are configured to resiliently deflect when the gasket is compressed. The conductive tabs in the first and second rows of the spaced apart resilient conductive tabs are staggered relative to each other, such that in an edge view of the gasket, at least one conductive tab in one row partially overlaps at least one conductive tab in the other row.

Abstract: A substrate comprises a first plurality of conductive pads disposed on a first side of the substrate and a different second plurality of conductive pads disposed on the first side of the substrate. Each conductive pad in the first plurality of conductive pads is configured to make electrical contact with a corresponding contact of a MicroSAS plug connector when the MicroSAS plug connector is mounted onto the substrate. Each conductive pad in the second plurality of conductive pads is configured to make electrical contact with a corresponding contact of a MicroSATA plug connector when the MicroSATA plug connector is mounted onto the substrate. At least one conductive pad belongs to both the first and second pluralities of conductive pads.

Abstract: The present invention relates to cable-to-board connectors for fine pitch, high speed connector assemblies. The exemplary connector assembly includes an insulative housing, a plurality of first contacts disposed in the housing wherein at least a portion of the contacts are adapted to terminate at a conductive trace on a printed circuit board and a first cable comprising a plurality of first wires. Each of the first contacts has a first mating portion for making electrical contact with a corresponding contact of a mating connector; and a first terminal portion extending along a housing bottom wherein the first terminal portion is adapted to terminate at a conductive trace on a printed circuit board. In the exemplary cable assembly, each first wire of the first cable is terminated at the first terminal portion of a different first contact.

Abstract: An electrical cable connector includes a cable connector housing and a latch attached to the cable connector housing. The cable connector housing includes a first set of electrical contacts and a latch channel. The latch includes an arm portion, a hinge portion, and an actuation portion. The arm portion is disposed in the latch channel and includes a pair of latch arms. The latch arms include opposing catch portions disposed at a front end thereof and are adapted to securely attach the cable connector to a mating connector by surrounding a protrusion inside a housing of the mating connector. The hinge portion extends from a back end of the arm portion. The actuation portion extends generally upwardly from the hinge portion. Pressing down the actuation portion about the hinge portion splays the latch arms such that the catch portions are moved away from each other.

Abstract: A gasket for use with an electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding cage for a connector includes a conductive body having an opening configured to receive a first end of the EMI shielding cage near a gasket mating wall incorporated on the EMI shielding cage. The conductive body has a first face designed to face away from the gasket mating wall, a second face designed to face the gasket mating wall, an inner perimeter and an outer perimeter. A plurality of engagement tabs are disposed along the outer perimeter and extend away from the first face. A plurality of spring tabs are disposed along the inner perimeter and extend away from the second face.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes a housing having a base portion with first and second mating ends. The first mating end can couple with a first complementary connector with a plurality of slots in an extension from the base, the second mating end can couple with a second complementary connector with a tongue portion extending from the base portion and having a first and a second tongue section. The connector has a plurality of contacts extending from the extension to the tongue portion, each contact having a first and a second contact section and a bridging section connecting these sections. The contacts are grouped forming a first and second contact set wherein the first and second contact section of each contact in the first contact set are aligned substantially along an axis while the first and second contact sections in the second contact set are aligned along different axes.

Abstract: A securing device comprises a frame having a first extension, a second extension and a body connecting the first and the second extensions, a retainer device having a first retainer arm, a second retainer arm and a bridging arm connecting both first ends of the first to the second retainer arms, a plurality of coupling devices extending from the body of the frame, coupling both second ends of the first and the second retainer arms of the retainer device to the frame; and a plurality of locking devices incorporated in the frame, locking the frame to an electrical connector to which the frame is to be attached.
