Abstract: A video training system is described for making short training videos available to employees at their work locations which are simple to operate. It employs several inexpensive video cards each which are loaded with several training videos that redistributed to users at their work locations. A training status device keeps track of which training videos are on which video cards. A tracking base tracks the locations of each video card. Each card has biometrics for identifying the user using each video card. Training status device receives the identity of the current user, checks to see which training videos that current user must view, but did not already view and provides this information to a logic device. Logic device receives the current location of the video cards having the training videos and notifies the current user where to find the video cards.

Abstract: A collection apparatus for organizing paper-based transaction items collected at a store checkout comprises a housing including a front section, rear section, left side, right side, top region, and bottom region; and an interior of the housing that is constructed and arranged into three regions. Each region includes a cavity; a removable container positioned in each cavity; three slot-shaped openings in the front section. Each slot-shaped opening is aligned with an opening in a removable container for providing a path for the paper-based transaction items to the removable container. A sensor in each cavity or container senses the paper-based transaction items received via a slot-shaped opening into the container.

Abstract: Described is a bagging station for use in a retail store to hold paper bags for filling with purchased products. The bagging station includes a bag retaining fixture for holding paper bags instead of hooks for holding plastic bags. The bag retaining fixture includes an elongate rod and a roller wheel. The elongate rod acts as an axle for the roller wheel. The elongate rod is coupled to a side wall of the bagging station. The elongate rod biases the roller wheel against the side wall. A side of a bag placed between the roller wheel and the side wall holds the paper bag in position on the bagging station so the bag can be filled with purchased items, then removed to be carried out of the store.

The bag holder is mounted at a bagging station in a retail store so the bag dispenser can hold and dispense shopping bags at the bagging station. The bag holder includes a rectangular box with a sliding door front that encases the bag dispenser and the shopping bags. The sliding door slides between a closed position and an open position. In the open position, the bag dispenser is accessible at the bagging station, and is used to dispense shopping bags. In the closed position, the bag dispenser and the shopping bags are enclosed in the bag holder. In the closed position, the shopping bags will not fall off the bag dispenser, or be stolen from the bag dispenser.

Abstract: A tether system is described that tethers a mobile computing device to a base. The tether system allows the mobile computing device to be used by individuals, but does not allow the mobile computing device to be moved further away from the base than the length of the tether. The tether system includes a tether cord with a first end coupled to the base, and a second end coupled to a coupling apparatus. The base can be a fixed structure, or can be coupled to a fixed structure, at the location where the mobile computing device is kept. The coupling apparatus is coupled to the mobile computing device. With the coupling apparatus coupling one end of the tether cord to the mobile computing device, and the other end of the tether cord coupled to the base, the tether system couples the mobile computing device to the base.

Abstract: Described is a shopping cart used to collect items in a retail store and transport them throughout the store and/or to a customer's vehicle. The shopping cart is configured to make it easier to load and unload heavy and awkward items. The shopping cart has a shopping cart basket and a support structure supporting the shopping cart basket above a wheel assembly. A front panel of the shopping cart basket rolls on wheels and tracks to a position above the basket or below the shopping basket. The shopping cart also has a lifting mechanism for raising and lowering the shopping cart basket. A customer can raise or lower the shopping cart basket and slide the front panel out of the way, if needed, for easy loading and unloading of the shopping cart. These features make it easier for the customer to load and unload heavy and awkward items.

Abstract: A bag holder is described for holding and dispensing shopping bags in a retail store. A front plate secures the shopping bags on the bag holder when the bag holder is not being used. The bag holder has a back plate assembly that is coupled to a center section of a bagging station in the retail store. The back plate assembly includes a bag holder hook and two handle holder hooks that hold and dispense shopping bags at the bagging station. When the bag holder is not being used to dispense shopping bags, the front plate is coupled to the back plate assembly. With the front plate coupled to the back plate assembly, the shopping bags are securely held between the front plate and the back plate assembly, and are safe from falling off or being taken off of the bag holder and the bagging station.

Abstract: A display table for displaying perishable produce items comprises a base; a produce bed on which the perishable produce items are positioned; and an air flow system for providing air circulation and ventilation at the produce bed. The air flow system comprises a plurality of ducts under the produce bed; an air distribution box that evenly distributes the air through the ducts; and a plurality of fans that circulate the air from the ducts under the produce bed to a region above the produce bed. The display table further comprises a control device that controls a flow of the air via the fans to the produce bed according to a state of the perishable produce items on the produce bed; and a self-contained power panel that generates power for the fans, the air distribution box, and the control device, wherein the power panel includes a cell power electrical system.

Abstract: Described is a divider system that divides a shopping cart basket up into compartments so that items in the shopping basket can be kept separate from each other. The divider system includes a first divider and a second divider that couple to one another using a slot in the second divider. The first divider and the second divider are each flat elongate panel assemblies of multiple flat panel structures. The first and second dividers are formed of three flat panels, two outer hollow panels and a center panel that slides into and out of each of the two hollow outer panels. With the divider system inserted into the basket of a shopping cart and coupled to the shopping cart, the divider system divides the shopping basket into multiple compartments for dividing items in the shopping basket.

The bag opening device helps a customer in a retail store to open a produce bag as the produce bag is being removed from the produce bag dispenser. The bag opening device includes a sleeve and a friction plate with a frictional element. The sleeve attaches the bag opening device to the produce bag dispenser. The friction plate, with a frictional element such as rubber or other sticky or gritty material on it, is positioned below the bag separator of the produce bag dispenser. As the customer separates one bag from the roll of produce bags with the bag separator, they slide the bag along the frictional element of the friction plate, which opens the bag for the customer as the bag is separated from the roll of produce bags.
