Patent number: 11940411Abstract: The invention provides a dry electroblotting system for dry blotting gels, in which the system includes an electroblotting transfer stack that comprises an analysis gel and a blotting membrane, an anode, a body of anodic gel matrix juxtaposed with the anode between the anode and the transfer stack, a cathode, and a body of cathodic gel matrix juxtaposed with the cathode between the cathode and the transfer stack, in which the anodic gel matrix and the cathodic gel matrix each comprise an ion source for electrophoretic transfer. The dry electroblotting system does not use any liquid buffers that are added to the system just before electroblotting (such as when the transfer stack is being assembled). The anode, the cathode, or both can be separate from a power supply and provided as part of a disposable electrode assembly that also includes a body of gel matrix that includes ions for electrophoretic transfer.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2020Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: THERMO FISHER ISRAEL LTD.Inventors: Ilana Margalit, Uri Yogev, Itay Sela, Yuri Katz, Adam Sartiel, Timothy Updyke

Patent number: 11836794Abstract: A method is provided that comprises collecting financial data points and normalizing the data points into a time series. The time series is merged into aggregates according to sliding windows that comprise different time periods and a sliding step increment. A periodic change in an increasing and convex transformation is computed for each aggregate, and multi-dimensional time-delayed coordinate embedding is applied to each aggregate. The sliding windows are applied to the time-delayed aggregates, and time series of variances and point clouds are derived within each sliding window. Persistence homologies and time series norms are computed for the point clouds, and the time series norms are correlated with the time series of variances. A warning of an impending financial crisis is output if the correlation of the time series norms with the time series of variances exceeds a predefined threshold.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2020Date of Patent: December 5, 2023Assignee: S&P Global Inc.Inventors: Yuri Katz, Alain Biem

Publication number: 20220405849Abstract: A method, apparatus, system, and computer program code for determining a financial risk to a financial security. A computer system obtains historical time series of the annual counts of tropical cyclones globally and of the global mean sea surface temperature. Based on a time series of annual changes in cumulative annual counts of major tropical cyclones, the computer system trains a statistical model to make projections of the annual cumulative counts of major tropical cyclones globally. The computer system uses these projections to determine the physical risk to fixed assets. Based the physical risk to the fixed asset, the computer system updates an assumption of a financial model. The computer system analyzes the financial risk of the financial security based on the financial model and the assumption that was updated.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2021Publication date: December 22, 2022Inventors: Alain Biem, Yuri Katz, Alka Dagar, Rick David Lord
