  • Patent number: 6235245
Abstract: A multi-purpose device, the device including a tube holder for holding tubes; tube driving apparatus for rotating the tubes in the tube holder, the tube holder having spaces for accommodating the tubes such that each one of the tubes can be placed in a separate one of the spaces; the spaces having shapes and sizes providing free rotation of the tubes within the spaces about longitudinal axes of the tubes; the tube driving apparatus having touching engagement with walls of the tubes and pressing the walls of the tubes against the tube holder; and friction between the tube driving apparatus and the walls of the tubes being greater then friction between walls of the tubes and the tube holder.

  • Patent number: 5960502
Abstract: A method for erection by launching of prefabricated modular deck of viaducts, motorway flyovers and the like and a mechanism for performing the method. The mechanism is a mobile bridge including towers and a replaceable platform supported by the towers. Each tower consists of a set of telescopic sections moveable up and down, placed on a track. Carrying capacity and structure of the bridge provide supporting and lowering the deck module and its carrier. The platform which length is less than a distance between the viaduct piers has expandable ends. To increase stability of the bridge during the erection process the platform can be temporarily affixed to the viaduct. The method is performed as a set of steps. Steps 1 and 2--installing the bridge between viaduct piers to provide a continuous way from an existing part of the viaduct to the bridge. Steps 3 and 4--delivering the module to the place of erection using an existing part of the viaduct as a road.

  • Patent number: 5769538
Abstract: A mixer is intended for mixing substances, resuspending pellets and disintegrating living cells, such as yeast cells. The mixer includes a tube holder and an electric motor with striking attachment(s). The main part of the holder is rigid rings coaxial with and located subsequently along the motor shaft. Each ring has a number of holes the tubes sit in. Diameters of the holes are larger then diameters of the tubes, so that there are gaps between the tubes and the rigid rings. The attachment(s) of the motor is disks with blades, affixed to the motor shaft. When the motor shaft rotates the blades strike against the tubes. Struck tubes are repelled by the rigid ring (due to a gap between the tubes and rings), get a new strike from the blades and so on. As a result, the substance inside the tube receives a turbulent motion which provides mixing, resuspending and disintegrating effects.

  • Patent number: 5707861
Abstract: An auxiliary holder of tubes intended for disintegration of living cells, such as yeast cells, in the presence of glass beads, as well as for mixing substances and pellet resuspension. The holder is installed on a vibrator. Due to specially-made gaps between the tubes and the main parts of the holder the processed cells and substances are subjected to a complex impact of vibration created by the vibrator and shocks created by the holder. The holder strongly enhances the effectiveness of the vibrator. During the disintegrating process the presence of a researcher is not required.

  • Patent number: 5655457
Abstract: A system of suspended supports for aerial transportation like ski lifts, tramways, freight ropeways, and high voltage electricity lines, has a main carrying element which is a long-span cable along the route, and which is suspended at its ends. A plurality of spaced supports for the aerial means are hung from the cable. Each support has a rigid element carrying the carrying cable and guy ropes, one end of which is attached to the rigid element and another end which is anchored in the ground. The guy ropes carry horizontal and upward vertical loads, and torques applied to the rigid element and fix a position of the rigid element.

  • Patent number: 5421491
Abstract: A household device for measuring and dispensing granular materials such as coffee, sugar and the like including set of adapters for receiving different canisters in which the granular material is normally sold or stored and a transporting mechanism for delivering a granular material from a receiving opening of the device to its dispensing opening. The transporting mechanism includes a slide having a lock which prevents the slide being fully withdrawn from a housing of the device and a compression spring(s) which effects a back stroke of the slide. The device is operated as a press-type mechanism that is convenient for users, especially for elderly and handicapped people.
