  • Publication number: 20230241495
Abstract: An information-processing device detects a predetermined input performed on each of controllers, while a confirmation screen is displayed on a display device before a game is started. The information-processing device changes a common parameter in response to the predetermined input performed on each of the controllers. The information-processing device changes an object image included in the confirmation screen in accordance with the common parameter. The information-processing device starts the game when the common parameter satisfies a start condition, regardless of whether the predetermined input is detected for all of the controllers.

  • Publication number: 20230241509
Abstract: In a first scene of a game played by users, an information-processing system outputs a first image or a first sound to an output device, the first image or the first sound instructing the users to shoot an image by use of a camera device. Subsequently, the information-processing system acquires color information of second images shot by the users, the color information being calculated based on the second shot images, and determines a designated color based on the color information. After determining a designated color, in a second scene subsequent to the first scene, the information-processing system outputs a third image or a second sound to the output device, the third image or the second sound instructing the users to shoot an image of an object that corresponds to the designated color. Subsequently, the information-processing system provides an evaluation to a fourth image shot in the second scene such that the closer a color of the fourth shot image to the designated color, the higher the evaluation.

  • Patent number: 10518171
Abstract: In a case where an attitude is included in a predetermined first range at a timing when a predetermined instruction operation is made by use of an input device, an instruction operation is determined to be successful. In a case where the attitude is included in a second range outside the first range at the timing of the instruction operation, it is further determined that the instruction operation is successful in a case where within a predetermined time period after the timing, the attitude is included in the first range or a third range including at least a part of the first range, and further the operation device is put into a still state or a state of moving by a predetermined amount or less.

  • Patent number: 10456665
Abstract: A determination section determines whether or not contact of an object has occurred, based on an orientation, of a controller, calculated by an orientation calculation section. A first waveform generation section generates a first vibration waveform when the determination section determines that the contact of the object has occurred. An audio vibration waveform generation section generates an audio vibration waveform based on a sound signal. An output section outputs the sound signal and outputs a signal representing a combined waveform obtained by the first vibration waveform and the audio vibration waveform based on the sound signal being combined with each other, when the determination section determines that the contact of the object has occurred.

  • Patent number: 10441883
Abstract: A movement calculation section calculates a movement of a virtual object according to an orientation and/or a motion, of a controller, calculated by an orientation/motion calculation section. A waveform generation section generates a vibration waveform based on a state, of a movement of the virtual object, obtained when the virtual object is in contact with another object, or comes into contact with another object. A waveform output section combines a plurality of vibration waveforms generated by the waveform generation section with each other, and outputs a signal representing a combined waveform obtained by the combination to a vibrator of the controller.

  • Patent number: 9522337
Abstract: An example controller device includes a housing, and a grip portion formed lopsided with respect to a center of a predetermined surface of the housing. An information processing system calculates an attitude of the controller device, and determines the orientation of the grip portion with respect to the center based on the attitude of the controller device. For example, the information processing system determines whether the grip portion is facing right or facing left with respect to the center. Thus, the information processing system can precisely determine the mode of use in which the controller device is used.

  • Patent number: 9308441
Abstract: An example game system accepts, as a first input, a predetermined game operation performed before the game control process. The attitude of the controller device when the first input was made is set as the tentative reference attitude. After the first input, the game system further accepts, as an additional input, a predetermined game operation performed in a state where the attitude of the controller device is within a predetermined range defined by the tentative reference attitude. In response to a predetermined number of additional inputs, the reference attitude is determined using at least one of the tentative reference attitude and attitudes of the controller device when the predetermined number of additional inputs were made. The game control process is executed based on the attitude of the controller device and the reference attitude.
