Abstract: A technology for producing a display device for which a repair operation can be carried out easily and reliably without damage to a display part and a protective part. The method includes: (A) a step of coating a resin composition, which is a raw material of the cured resin, on at least one of the display part or the protective part, (B) a step of closely attaching the display part and the protective part via the resin composition, and (C) a step of arranging the cured resin layer between the display part and the protective part by curing the resin composition by irradiating UV rays from external side of the protective part. After the step (B), the method further includes (b1) a step of separating the display part and the protective part, and (b2) a step of peeling and removing the resin composition adhered to the separated display part and the separated protective part by a removing solution which contains an organic solvent.

  • Publication number: 20100134713
Abstract: An image display device, and a production method thereof are provided, which are capable of suppressing warping of a protective panel formed from a plastic as much as possible. In an image display device having a liquid crystal display panel 1 and a transparent protective panel 2 formed from a plastic which are arranged facing each other via a cured resin, an outer dimension of the protective panel 2 is made larger than an outer dimension of the liquid crystal display panel 1, curing of a resin composition 4 is carried out in a state where a peripheral edge of the protective panel 2 is fixed with a fixing jig 5, and the peripheral edge of the protective panel 2 is fixed with the fixing jig 5 even after the curing of the resin composition 4.

  • Publication number: 20100118245
Abstract: An image display device has an image display part and a protective part on the image display part. The image display device suppresses image unevenness and cured resin peeling caused by internal stress generated due to curing shrinkage of a cured resin between the protective part and the image display part or external stress applied on the image display part due to warping of the protective part. A cured resin layer is arranged between the image display part and the protective part. The cured resin layer has a light transmittance in the visible region of 90% or more, an elongation ratio of 700% or more at 25° C. and 400% or more at 80° C., and an adhesive force with respect to the protective part of 0.4 N/cm or more at 25° C. and 0.3 N/cm or more at 80° C.

  • Publication number: 20100097746
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an image display device includes the step of forming a cured resin layer by interposing a photo-curable resin composition between a protection member and a display-side panel including an image display unit and a frame member and then photo-curing the photo-curable resin composition, with the photo-curable resin composition being disposed across between the image display unit and the frame member. In the manufacturing method, a high-viscosity resin composition having a viscosity of 3000 mPa·s or more and 12000 mPa·s or less is used as the photo-curable resin composition. Alternatively, after a gap between the image display unit and the frame member is sealed with a sealing film, a photo-curable resin composition is interposed between the display-side panel and the protection member.

  • Publication number: 20100097552
Abstract: A thin image display apparatus capable of high luminance and high contrast display of a display part, which does not produce display defects resulting from deformation of the image display part. The thin image display apparatus has an image display part and a light-transmitting protective part arranged on the image display part. A cured resin layer is arranged between the image display part and the protective part. The cured resin layer has a transmittance in the visible region of 90% or higher and a storage modulus at 25° C. of 1.0×107 Pa or less. • Publication number: 20100043965
Abstract: A thin image display device having a resin interposed between an image display unit and a protection member having a light-shielding member is manufactured. In the manufactured image display device, display defects caused by the deformation of the image display unit do not occur, and high-brightness and high-contrast display can be achieved. In addition, the resin in the area where the light-shielding member is formed can be sufficiently cured. The method for manufacturing an image display device includes the step of forming a cured resin layer by interposing a photo-curable resin composition between a base including the image display unit and a light-transmitting protection member including a light-shielding member and then photo-curing the photo-curable resin composition. In this method, a resin composition having a curing shrinkage ratio of 5% or less, yielding a cured product having a storage elastic modulus at 25° C. of 1.

  • Publication number: 20090186552
Abstract: It is possible to manufacture a highly reliable image display device capable of proceeding with resin cure even in the case where a protective panel is provided with a light shielding portion. A liquid crystal display unit 2 having a liquid crystal display panel 8 and a light transmissive protective panel 3 having a light shielding portion 5 are disposed face to face, a resin composition 10 is interposed between the liquid crystal display unit and the protective panel, and the resin composition is cured into a cured resin layer 11. As the resin composition 10, a light-heat-curing resin composition and containing a photopolymerization initiator and organic peroxide of thermal polymerization initiator is used. In curing the resin composition 10, cure by light (ultraviolet rays) irradiation is performed until a cure ratio of the resin composition becomes 30% or more and thereafter thermal cure is performed.
