  • Publication number: 20090238733
Abstract: A honeycomb structure includes at least one honeycomb member including inorganic fibers and having walls extending along a longitudinal direction to define cells. A catalyst is provided on the wall in an amount of at least about 100 g and at most about 400 g per liter of volume of the honeycomb structure. The honeycomb member has a pore distribution measured using mercury porosimetry in which a pore distribution curve has a first peak in a range from about 0.005 ?m to about 0.03 ?m of a pore diameter, a second peak in a range from about 1 ?m to about 15 ?m of the pore diameter, and a third peak in a range from about 15 ?m to about 50 ?m of the pore diameter, where the curve is drawn by plotting the pore diameter (?m) on an X-axis and a log differential pore volume (mL/g) on a Y-axis.

  • Patent number: 7543732
Abstract: A technique for evaluation of the strength of a spot welded portion of a panel is provided. A stress value at the welded portion of the panel is calculated by a stress analysis according to a FEM using the elements, and then the strength of the welded portion is evaluated based on the stress value at the welded portion. A portion in the proximity of the spot welded portion is divided, with a central portion of the spot welded portion registered with a nodal point of the elements, into a central element and plural concentric ring-like elements from the center side provided by the central portion of the spot welded portion. Thereafter, the plural concentric ring-like elements are individually divided in a circumferential direction each into a plurality of portions to form the elements. Then, the strength is evaluated based on the stress value of the second ring-like element.

  • Publication number: 20080295470
Abstract: A honeycomb filter includes a pillar-shaped honeycomb structure integrally formed, first and second lamination members, a metal casing containing the honeycomb structure and the lamination member, and first and second end members connected to first and second end portions of the casing, respectively to secure the honeycomb structure and the lamination member. The honeycomb structure includes a wall portion defining through holes which extend substantially along a longitudinal direction of the honeycomb structure, each of the through holes being sealed at either one end portion. Each of the lamination members has aligned through holes extending substantially along the longitudinal direction. The honeycomb structure and lamination members include inorganic fibers oriented substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.

  • Publication number: 20080289307
Abstract: A honeycomb structure includes a plurality of cells, an inorganic fiber, and an inorganic matter. The plurality of cells are disposed substantially in parallel with one another in a longitudinal direction with a cell wall therebetween. The inorganic matter forms a fixed portion in which said inorganic fibers are fixed to one another, part of the fixed portion having a fissure.

  • Publication number: 20070032290
Abstract: Disclosed is a gaming machine. The gaming machine determines a priority attraction-in ranking depending on an internal winning combination and a type of a symbol, for each of the symbols arranged on the reels, compares the priority attraction-in rankings related to each of the symbols ranging from a symbol located at a predetermined position to symbols within a predetermined range, when the stop operation is detected, and stops rotation of the reels when a symbol having the highest priority attraction-in ranking reaches the predetermined position.

  • Patent number: 5050840
Abstract: An electromagnet (A) capable of being used for a solenoid valve. In this electromagnet (A), a pipe unit (6) is provided at one end part thereof with a mounting portion (12) opposed to a valve body (B), and a cap (E) is joined to the other end part thereof. The pipe unit (6) is provided therein with a movable core (24) so that the core (24) can be moved forward and backward therein, and a coil unit (D) is fitted around the outer circumferential surface of the pipe unit (6). The cap (E) and pipe unit (6) are combined with each other by the threads (18, 39) formed in and on the opposed inner and outer circumferential surfaces thereof. In order to fasten the electromagnet (A) to the valve body (B), the pipe unit (6) is connected to the valve body (B), and the coil unit (D) is then fitted around this pipe unit (6), the cap (E) being then screwed to the pipe unit (6). Thus, the coil unit (D) can be set firmly by the cap (E).
