  • Patent number: 8582958
Abstract: Provided is a playback device which is capable of correctly determining a construction status of a virtual package. An access is attempted to a state signaling file recorded in a local storage using a fixed address on a virtual file system assigned by merge management information (step S13). The virtual package construction status is determined according to failure or success of the attempted access.

    Assignee: Panasonic Corporation
Inventors: Yasuyuki Matsuura, Yuta Kiyosawa, Tomohiro Matsumoto, Taiji Sasaki
  • Patent number: 8286252
Abstract: A method of moving a rights object according to the present invention includes the following steps. First, a rights object in the memory card is disabled. Then, the rights object is copied from the memory card in response to a retrieval request and installed to a content player. After the installation, a removal request is transmitted to the memory card and the rights object in the memory card is removed (deleted). After transmitting the removal request, second state information is generated and held in the content player to indicate that the removal of the rights object in the memory card has not yet been completed and that the rights object installed in the content player is conditionally enabled. When the memory card receives the removal request, the memory card removes the rights object from the memory card and transmits a removal response for notifying completion of the removal to the content player.

  • Publication number: 20110262104
Abstract: A playback device plays back a plurality of digital streams constituting a stream sequence while sequentially downloading the streams from an external resource contains time information indicating the current stream sequence playback time and state information indicating whether each stream is in a playable or non-playable state, and comprises an executor operable to execute an application corresponding to the stream sequence and a playback controller operable to control stream sequence playback. The application includes playback interval information for each stream, and specifies the subsequent stream to be played back after the current stream according to the playback interval information. When the state information of the subsequent stream is not the playable state, the playback controller performs one of a trickplay operation for extending the display duration of the current stream or a substitute video playback operation after the current stream in accordance with a request from the application.
