  • Patent number: 9098782
Abstract: According to the invention it is possible to determine in advance whether it is possible to correctly generate a conversion table for calibration or color profile correction even with respect to an unknown print medium, and to avoid the preparation of unsuitable parameters and the performance of unsuitable image processing based thereon. In order to achieve this the color of a subject print medium is measured and from the color measurement result it is determined, based on color measurement data from a test pattern printed on the print medium, whether it is possible to obtain parameters suited to the print medium. As a result it has become possible to avoid the preparation of unsuitable parameters to be associated with the print medium, and it has become possible to output images with a comparatively stable reproduction of color even where performing printing on a variety of print mediums.

  • Patent number: 8792134
Abstract: Conventional calibration patches are designed such that gradation values of the patches are determined, based on the overall length of a trajectory of a monochrome ink color in an L*a*b* space, so that distances between patches become uniform, and therefore provide low interpolation accuracy in a region where measurement values change non-linearly in accordance with the change in gradation. According to the present invention, gradation values of patches to be used for color calibration are determined so that the patches are closely arranged in a region where measurement values change non-linearly in accordance with the change in gradation. Thus, interpolation accuracy can be improved in a region where measurement values change non-linearly.

  • Patent number: 5862317
Abstract: A communicating apparatus which stores communication obstacle information in the case where a communication obstacle occurs. The apparatus comprises a memory to store communication information and a managing unit to manage the information stored in the memory in accordance with information stored in a communication partner, wherein the managing unit processes the information stored in the memory in accordance with the recovery of the communication obstacle or the number of communication obstacles.

  • Patent number: 5594871
Abstract: The data communication system according to the present invention executes data transmissions and data receptions between a main unit and a plurality of terminals by the polling/selecting method. The main unit comprises a key input section and a memory that stores information on communication periods of each terminal, which were set by using the key input section. In a case where polling/selecting is performed, the communication periods of the designated terminal are read. The main unit further comprises a timer. The present time which is read from the timer is compared with the designated communication periods which are read from the memory and whether or not the present time is within the communication periods is determined. In the case where the time is within the communication periods, the main unit executes the polling/selecting processing to the terminal and the data communication is performed.

  • Patent number: 5421018
Abstract: In a data communication system between a host apparatus and a portable terminal, there is provided an electronic apparatus for intermediation which is connected to the host apparatus and which can be removably connected to the portable terminal. Power is supplied to the electronic apparatus for intermediation only when the portable terminal is connected. When the portable terminal is connected to the electronic apparatus for intermediation, transmission and reception of data are started between the portable terminal and the host apparatus.

  • Patent number: 3981608
Abstract: A turbine control system for changing two speed governing operations of a steam turbine from a throttle governing operation to a nozzle governing operation and vise versa by controlling steam control valves comprises function generators grouped according to the two speed governing operations and operated by a main control flow-rate request signal to produce function outputs which are applied to respective low-value gate circuits, means for comparing the sum of the outputs of the gate circuits and the main control flowrate request signal, and means for varying the main control flowrate request signal with the aid of the difference between the signals thus compared in such a manner that while one of the outputs of the gate circuits decreases, the other output increases to supplement the decrease, whereby the steam control valves are gradually operated with the output of the turbine being kept unchanged during the operating mode changing operation.
