  • Publication number: 20060232538
Abstract: A method of driving a liquid crystal display device includes a plurality of scanning lines, a plurality of data lines arranged to intersect the plurality of scanning lines, a plurality of pixel electrodes arranged in correspondence with the intersections between the plurality of scanning lines and the plurality of data lines, a plurality of pixel switching elements for supplying the signals of the data lines to the pixel electrodes based on the signals of the scanning lines, and an opposed electrode facing the pixel electrodes. The plurality of scanning lines are supplied with respective timings to apply any one of a selection potential and a non-selection potential to the pixel switching elements, the opposed electrode is inversion-driven between a first potential and a second potential, and at least one of the plurality of scanning lines has the selection potential at a common inversion timing when the opposed electrode is inverted from the first potential to the second potential.

  • Publication number: 20060202926
Abstract: A semiconductor circuit includes a first circuit block, a second circuit block, and power wiring lines that supply a plurality of reference potentials. The first circuit block and the second circuit block are connected to a common power wiring line that is one of the power wiring lines and supplies a common reference potential. A width of the common power wiring line in the first circuit block is smaller than a width of the common power wiring line in the second circuit block.

  • Publication number: 20060002045
Abstract: To prevent an electrostatic damage on a display device formed with a driving circuit. Protective circuits are provided not only at input terminal parts, but also at intermediate parts of a circuit or at the ends of wiring lines. Otherwise, the protective circuits are provided at the ends of the wiring lines and at the places immediately before and after the input terminals, respectively, and then the circuit is interposed therebetween. Further, the protective circuits are provided around a circuit with a large current consumption.

  • Publication number: 20050248558
Abstract: To reduce a voltage applied to a scanning line driving circuit. Buffer circuits respectively connected to gate electrodes of an N-channel transistor and a P-channel transistor which are connected to the scanning lines are provided and driving voltages are made different from each other, such that voltages applied to the buffer circuits are reduced.

  • Publication number: 20050052393
Abstract: To enable a common inversion driving even in an LCD having a large size and a high definition. A common capacitance is significantly reduced by making most of scanning lines in a floating state during the common inversion. In addition, the timing for floating the scanning lines is changed depending on the polarity of the common potential. Specifically, if a pixel switching element is an N channel type, the scanning lines are floated when the common potential is high. If the pixel switching element is a P channel type, the scanning lines are floated when the common potential is low.

  • Patent number: 6839107
Abstract: The invention provides an electro-optical device provided including a light reflector having a light diffusion function in a preferable condition while an increase in manufacturing cost thereof is minimized, and also provides an electronic apparatus using the same. The present invention can include an active matrix type reflective or transflective electro-optical device wherein, on a surface of a light reflector of an array substrate, irregularity-forming thin-films can be formed by patterning thin-films composed of the same layers as those forming a underlying protection film, a gate insulation film, a scanning line, a first interlayer insulation film, a data line, and a second interlayer insulation film so as to have predetermined patterns. Since an irregular pattern is formed by steps and irregularity of the irregularity-forming thin-films mentioned above, incident light on an counter substrate can be reflected thereto while being diffused.
