  • Patent number: 7647906
Abstract: A vertical internal combustion engine E is incorporated into an outboard motor or the like. The vertical internal combustion engine E includes a crankshaft 18 enclosed in a crank chamber 20, and a belt-drive transmission mechanism 50 including a rubber belt 53 for transmitting power of the crankshaft 18 to a camshaft 24, and held in a belt chamber 63. The belt chamber 63 is isolated from the crank chamber 20 by a lower case 61 of a transmission case 60 holding the belt-drive transmission mechanism 50 therein such that the flow of an oil-containing gas from the crank chamber 20 deviates from a direction toward the belt 53. The belt 53 is lubricated with oil injected concentratedly into the belt chamber 63 through jet nozzles 80 disposed in the belt chamber 63. Thus the excessive exposure of the belt 53 to the oil-containing gas from the crank chamber can be avoided, the life of the belt can be extended and the belt is lubricated properly.

  • Publication number: 20090222158
Abstract: A control method for an industrial vehicle can appropriately set a charge amount for a battery, and an industrial vehicle are provided. The control method includes an estimation step that estimates the charge rate of a battery by calculating the current that is charged to the battery and the current that is discharged from the battery; a charge amount determining step that determines the charge amount of the battery based on the estimated charge rate; a correction amount determining step that determines the charge power that is necessary for motors to generate the determined charge amount as a correction amount for the power that is supplied by the engine; and an addition step that adds the charge power to the supplied power of the engine that has been determined based on the state of the traveling and load-handling.

  • Publication number: 20090051322
Abstract: A battery control device and a hybrid forklift truck provided with an engine and battery-driven motor generator and equipped with the device with which control is performed so that excessive exhaustion or charging of the battery does not occur in operation of the forklift truck. SOC of the battery is determined from an established relationship between battery voltage and SOC when battery current is zero for at least a predetermined time period and SOC is also determined from an established relationship between battery voltage, current and SOC when discharge current is constant for at least a predetermined time period. SOC of the battery is revised on every chance battery current is zero or constant for at least the predetermined time period, and SOC at any point of time in operation of the forklift truck is estimated by integrating battery current from the time point of SOC revision and subtracting the integrated current from said revised SOP.

  • Publication number: 20070277762
Abstract: A vertical internal combustion engine E has a crankshaft 18 enclosed in a crank chamber 20, a belt-drive transmission mechanism 50 held in a belt chamber 63 and including a rubber belt 53 for transmitting power of the crankshaft 18 to a camshaft 24 in a valve train 23, and a transmission case 60 defining the belt chamber 63. The belt chamber 63 communicates with the crank chamber 20 by way of vent holes 70 and 71, the transmission case 60 is provided with an internal wall Wi disposed between the vent holes 70 and 71 and the belt 53 in the belt chamber 63 to deflect the flow of an oil-containing gas flowing from the crank chamber 20 into the belt chamber 63 such that the oil-containing gas flows in directions deviating from a direction toward the belt 53. The belt 53 is lubricated with oil in the oil-containing gas. The belt 53 is pre-vented from being excessively exposed to the oil-containing gas from the crank chamber 20 to extend its life.

The belt 53 has a part 53a extending over the crank chamber 20, and the lower case 61 is disposed to screen the part 53a of the belt 53 from the crank chamber 20. The belt 53 is lubricated by oil in oil-containing gas from the crank chamber 20. Thus the oil-containing gas is prevented from excessively contacting the rubber belt, so that the life of the belt is extended.

  • Publication number: 20060145954
Abstract: A power recovery circuit includes a capacitor (C2) for accumulating power recovered from a panel (C1), a third switching element (Q3) for discharging the capacitor (C2), a fourth switching element (Q4) for charging the capacitor (C2), and a level shift unit for shifting a control signal for controlling Q4 to the voltage level of the capacitor (C2). The threshold voltage of Q4 is set higher than that of Q3. Accordingly, Q4 can be prevented from malfunctioning due to a decrease in the voltage of the capacitor (C2).

  • Patent number: 7044098
Abstract: Gaskets are placed in joints between adjacent nonferrous metal engine members of a water-cooled engine for an outboard motor, such as a cylinder block, a cylinder head, a crankcase, a mount case and an oil pan, to seal the joints. Each of the gaskets has a base member formed of a stainless steel. The surfaces of the base member are coated with electrochemical corrosion preventing films formed by applying a liquid containing flakes of an aluminum alloy or a zinc alloy and a silicate resin in films and baking the films of the liquid. The electrochemical corrosion preventing films are coated with sealing films formed by applying a liquid containing aluminum flakes and a silicate resin to the electrochemical corrosion preventing films and baking the films of the liquid. The gaskets are prevented from electrochemically corroding despite potential difference between each gasket and the adjacent engine members.

  • Publication number: 20060065421
Abstract: Warping of a hybrid integrated circuit device 10 due to shrinkage on curing of a sealing resin 14 is suppressed. The hybrid integrated circuit device 10 includes: a conductive pattern 13 provided on a surface of a circuit board 11; circuit elements 15 fixed to the conductive pattern 13; thin metal wires 17 electrically connecting the circuit elements 15 to the conductive pattern; leads 16 which are connected to the conductive pattern 13 to become output or input and extended to the outside; and a sealing resin 14 which is made of a thermosetting resin and covers the circuit board 11 by transfer molding while at least a rear surface of the circuit board is exposed. Here, a thermal expansion coefficient of the sealing resin 14 is set to be smaller than a thermal expansion coefficient of the circuit board 11. Thus, warping of the circuit board 11 in an after cure step can be prevented.
