  • Publication number: 20030062013
Abstract: An opening long in the longitudinal direction of a duct wall is formed. The whole of the opening is covered with non-woven fabric, and the lateral width of the opening is set to be not shorter than {fraction (1/20)} of the circumferential length of the duct wall. Alternatively, a porous member is thermally welded with the head of an opening of a small cylindrical portion projecting from the duct wall of a duct body 1, while the duct body is prevented from deformation. In a method for manufacturing the air take duct, a high-melting molded piece is brought into contact with a hot plate so as to be heated. A low-melting molded piece is disposed at a distance from the hot plate so as to be heated by radiation heat from the hot plate.

  • Patent number: 5937427
Abstract: In recording of information, upon reception of a write request from a host computer, recording information from the host computer is stored in a cache memory, and thereafter, a notification of write completion is transferred to the host computer to accept the next request. A request from the host computer is compared with a most recent prior request so as to judge if two requests are sequential write accesses. When it is determined that the two requests are sequential write accesses, a write operation corresponding to the next write access is sequentially performed after a write operation corresponding to the most recent prior request.

  • Patent number: 5744763
Abstract: A soundproofing material 10 is applied to a vehicle hood panel 14 on the side facing the engine compartment. The soundproofing material 10 as a whole has a sheet-like form and includes a pulverized rubber layer 11 containing rubber grains of various kinds of material, various sizes and various shapes and covering layers 12 which cover the pulverized rubber layer 11. Noises are absorbed topically by a number of rubber grains within the soundproofing material 10 and by air gaps present between the rubber grains. While noise generating sources such as an engine, an induction system unit, transmissions and so on are housed in the engine compartment, noises ranging over a plurality of wavelength are generated by them yet are absorbed by the pulverized rubber layer 11, because the pulverized rubber layer 11 contains a mixture of rubber grains of various kinds, various sizes and various shapes, and the frequency level of the noise to be absorbed by each rubber grain is different piece by piece.

  • Patent number: 5537552
Abstract: An information reproducing apparatus for reproducing recorded data includes a buffer, a control device and a determining device. The buffer stores data blocks read out from a recording medium and includes first and second storage areas having respectively discontinuous storing and read addresses. The apparatus is controlled to execute in parallel a first process for storing the data blocks into the buffer and a second process for reading out the data blocks stored in the buffer to transfer the data blocks to a host apparatus. The determining device determines whether there are data in the first storage area to be transferred to the host apparatus by comparing a storing address in the buffer of the data which are being stored into the first storage area with a read address in the buffer of the data which are being read out from the first storage area. The first process is controlled so that a predetermined data block which has been read out from the recording medium is stored into the second storage area.

  • Patent number: 5500840
Abstract: An access of a device for writing or reading information from/to a desired region is performed in the following manner on an information recording medium on which a plurality of tracks are spirally formed. The recording medium is rotated and an arrival position of the writing/reading device is estimated when the device is accessed to a track on which the desired region exists. If the estimated position lies within the desired region, the writing/reading device is caused access to the track on which the desired region exists. If the estimated position is located after the desired region, the writing/reading device is caused to access one-preceding track of the track having the desired region.
