  • Publication number: 20120073728
Abstract: By increasing the number of segments constituting the outer periphery of a tire building drum, sufficient roundness is ensured for the tire building drum in a wide diameter expansion/reduction range. The tire building drum used for manufacture of an unvulcanized tire is expanded or reduced in diameter in at least a part of the outer periphery by displacing a plurality of extensible/contractible segments sequentially arranged in the drum peripheral direction. Furthermore, the tire building drum is provided with a pair of segment displacing means which expand/contract the plurality of segments, and the pair of segment displacing means are alternately connected to each of the segments in the drum peripheral direction. Each of the connected segments is displaced, respectively, by the pair of segment displacing means.

  • Publication number: 20100137489
Abstract: The present invention provides an organic inorganic composite powder which has a specific particle shape in accordance with a washing solvent, which contains fine inorganic particles, and which easily disperses in water by: precipitating a metal salt from the reaction solvent through neutralization or reduction in the presence of a polymer or monomer dissolved in the reaction solvent; polymerizing the monomer after precipitation of the metal salt in the case where the monomer forms no composite with the metal salt during precipitation in the presence of the monomer; washing the obtained precipitate with a specific washing solvent; and drying the resultant.

  • Publication number: 20100116415
Abstract: In forming a green tire by arranging a plurality of carcass cords on a support member and disposing bead cores, the carcass cords are precisely and accurately disposed at predetermined positions. A plurality of carcass cords (C) are arranged over the entire circumference of a core (21), and the ends thereof are attached to the end holding means (30) so that the ends are held at positions distant from each other axially outward of the core (21) in a stretched state between the core (21) and themselves. Bead cores (60) are moved from the outside of the carcass cords (C) toward bead molding portions (24) of the core (21), are brought into contact with the carcass cords (C) held at the ends, and are pressed against the core (21).

  • Publication number: 20090083983
Abstract: A longer life and maintenance-free of a cutter for cutting a linear member are realized. A fixed blade (1) and a rotating blade (2) have through holes at the center of a disk, respectively, and shearing blades are formed on circumferential surfaces (1a) and (2a) of the respective through holes. The fixed blade (1) and the rotating blade (2) are held rotatably around the center axes of the through holes (free rotating direction) by a fixed blade holding member and a rotating blade holding member, not shown, respectively. A linear member (C) to be cut is inserted through the through holes of the fixed blade (1) and the rotating blade (2) and the center axis of the rotating blade (2) is displaced so that a centroid (6) of the rotating blade (2) becomes an oval so as to cut the linear member (C).

  • Patent number: 7387697
Abstract: To effectively restrict occurrence of radially extending grooves in tire sidewall portions, turn-up portions (N) of a tire structure member (K) are turned up around the beads (B) by synchronously moving turn-up arms (66) axially inward by a moving means (75), with turn-up rollers (70) maintained in contact with the turn-up portion (N), and simultaneously, by synchronously swinging the turn-up arms (66) radially outward by a swinging means (76). The contact pressure of the turn-up rollers (70) applied to the turn-up portion (N) can thus be easily adjusted to an optimum value, with the result that impressions (grooves) produced in the outer surface of the turn-up portion (N) (which becomes part of the tire sidewall portion after being turned up) can be kept as shallow as possible.

  • Publication number: 20080000575
Abstract: A structure of a device for affixing a tire constituting cord on a core having an outer surface shape corresponding to an inner surface shape of a product tire is simplified and time for affixing operation is reduced. A cord affixing device (1) includes a frame (2), a motor (3), manipulators (4A), (4B), and a moving mechanism (5). The manipulators (4A), (4B) are capable of approaching to/separating from each other in the longitudinal direction of the frame (2) by the motor (3). At the tip ends of the manipulators (4A), (4B), finger chucks (10A), (10B) for holding the cord and pressing members (11A), (11B) for pressing the both ends of the cord (C) onto a bead molding portion are provided. The both ends of the cord (C) cut to a given length are held by the finger chucks (10A), (10B), and the cord (C) is affixed from a tread molding portion of the core (21) to the direction of the bead molding portion along the meridian while a tension is applied in the longitudinal direction.

  • Patent number: 4455189
Abstract: An apparatus for joining sheet segments, typically rubberized, to one another to form an elongated strip, wherein a strip composed of sheet segments joined together is conveyed into a joining zone between rear and front conveyance zones in such a manner that the strip has a trailing end portion slightly projecting rearwardly from the rearmost ends of guide rails extending through the joining zone and front conveyance zone, whereupon a vertically movable pressing surface is brought into pressing contact with the trailing edge of the strip for causing the trailing edge to extend at a desired angle to a transverse direction of the joining zone. A sheet segment to be joined to such a strip is conveyed into the joining zone under the guidance of a vertically movable ride-on surface whereupon vertically movable edge portions are brought into pressing contact with the leading edge of the sheet segment for causing the leading edge to extend in parallel with the trailing edge of the strip.
