  • Patent number: 6536566
Abstract: A vibration-damping device comprising: at least one rigid housing member fixedly disposed in a vibrative member; and a plurality of independent mass members disposed non-adhesively and independently in the at least one housing member such that each of the plurality of independent mass members is opposed to the at least one housing member with a given spacing therebetween in a vibration input direction, and is displaceable relative to the at least one housing member. The each independent mass member is independently displaced relative to the at least one housing member so that the independent mass member and the housing member are brought into elastic impact against each other at their respective abutting surfaces which are opposed to each other in the vibration input direction.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 27, 2001
Date of Patent: March 25, 2003
    Assignee: Tokai Rubber Industries, Ltd.
Inventors: Koichi Hasegawa, Rentaro Kato, Yoshinori Yasumoto, Masaaki Hamada, Yutaka Tazuke

  • Patent number: 5769380
Abstract: A rubber vibration isolator with a bracket and a method of manufacturing the same. An elastic rubber member is vulcanization bonded to both a metallic cylindrical portion and an inner sleeve disposed inside of the cylindrical portion in a first securing portion opposed to an inner surface of the metallic cylindrical portion and a second securing portion opposed to an outer surface of the inner sleeve. Next, the metallic cylindrical portion is plastically deformed towards an axial center thereof to precompress the elastic rubber member. An arm portion is secured to an outer surface of the plastically deformed cylindrical portion by low temperature welding, thereby forming the bracket.

  • Patent number: 4881426
Abstract: A dual-type damper for damping vibration of a rotation axle, having a damper pulley including a boss portion joined to the rotation axle, a cylindrical portion located radially outwardly of the boss portion, and a connection portion connecting the boss and cylindrical portions; a first damper mass disposed radially outwardly of the cylindrical portion, concentrically with the same; a first resilient member interposed between the cylindrical portion and the first damper mass; and a metallic annular member press-fitted onto an inside surface of the cylindrical portion. A second damper mass having a cylindrical shape is disposed between the connection portion and the annular member, in an inner space of the cylindrical portion, concentrically with the cylindrical portion; and a second resilient member is disposed between the annular member and one axial end of the second damper mass, so as to secure the second damper mass to the annular member.

A first damper-mass member is disposed radially outwardly of the cylindrical portion of the damper pulley, such that the first damper-mass member is spaced apart from, and concentric with, the cylindrical portion. A first resilient member is interposed between the cylindrical portion of the damper pulley and the first damper-mass member. A second damper-mass member has a cylindrical shape and is disposed concentrically in an inner space of the cylindrical portion of the damper pulley.
