    Abstract: Igniters, igniters with adjustable wicks, and methods of manufacturing and operating the same are disclosed. The igniters may include a housing, at least one battery, an ignition assembly, and a wick. The ignition assembly may include a pivot-mechanism having a first pivoting-element, a second pivoting-element, and a pivot-hinge assembly through which the first pivoting-element and the second pivoting-element are rotatably coupled. The ignition assembly can be operated to pivot the first pivoting-element and the second pivoting-element in opposite directions. The ignition assembly may include electrical contacts that can be shifted into contact to complete a circuit, thereby sending an electrical current through an igniter tip used to ignite the wick. In additional aspects, the wick is a hemp wick, and the housing may be formed of biodegradable or recyclable materials.

The cigarette lighter includes a bracket configured to actuate the valve when a force is applied by a user and includes a friction wheel assembly in mechanical communication with the bracket and configured to rotate about an axis. The cigarette lighter includes a flint in mechanical communication with the friction wheel assembly and configured to emit spark when the friction wheel assembly is rotated about the axis by a user.

When causing ejection and combustion of fuel gas, which is contained in a tank chamber (24), out of a discharge nozzle (3) via a filter (71) which serves to keep the gas passage rate flowing therethrough constant and a valve mechanism (4) for starting and stopping feeding of the gas, the filter (71) is made of a membrane film (71a), which has pores and serves to keep the passage rate of the gas flowing therethrough constant; and a permeable porous body (71b) placed on the membrane film. A filter component (7) for affixing the filter (71) to the holder (72) is assembled on the upstream side of the valve mechanism (4).
