Patent number: 7319698Abstract: A receiver including: a data regeneration mechanism that receives and regenerates data transmitted in units of a packet; a storage device in which received data is stored; a packet ID extraction unit that extracts a packet ID indicating a packet to be re-received; and a retransmission request unit that transmits retransmission request information, which requests retransmission of a packet to be re-received, to a transmitter. The transmitter retransmits only a packet, which is identified with a packet ID specified in the retransmission request information sent from the receiver, to the receiver. The receiver overwrites data, which is stored in the storage device, with data contained in a packet retransmitted from the transmitter. There is thus provided a recovery system for restoring data, which is preserved in the storage device, while regenerating data without stopping a motion picture irrespective of whether a lost packet is present.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2003Date of Patent: January 15, 2008Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Levan Higashigawa, Shoichi Sano, Yuzuru Koga, Tomokazu Shirakura, Makoto Hyuga

Patent number: 6460137Abstract: A random-number generator generates first and second title keys on the basis of random numbers. A first DES encryption circuit for the title encrypts input data with the first title key. Initial values of this item of input data are a data identifier (ID) and program clock reference (PCR) that are extracted from a packet header. After completing the encryption of the initial values, a result of an encryption by a second DES encryption circuit for title serves as the input data for the first DES encryption circuit for title. The second DES encryption circuit for title encrypts a value of result of the encryption by the first DES encryption circuit for title with the second title key. An exclusive OR circuit outputs an exclusive OR of the data stored in the packet and a value of result of the encryption by the second DES encryption circuit for title. This exclusive OR turns out encrypted data.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 1996Date of Patent: October 1, 2002Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Ryota Akiyama, Akio Munakata, Yuzuru Koga, Masayuki Ishizaki, Makoto Yoshioka

Patent number: 6295179Abstract: A library system in which a recording and reproducing unit loads a recording medium after an accessor has retired from the recording and reproducing unit by exchanging data between the recording and reproducing unit and the accessor on the occasion that the recording and reproducing unit loads a recording medium carried from the accessor to the recording and reproducing unit. Moreover, the library system has an object to realize communication of the necessary data between the recording reproducing unit and accessor without increase of a load of the director for controlling the recording and reproducing unit and accessor.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 1994Date of Patent: September 25, 2001Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Takamasa Taniai, Yasuhiko Hanaoka, Yuzuru Koga

Patent number: 5784464Abstract: A key management unit of a service provider system generates an individual key corresponding to a portable module connected to a service client making an access request and informs an authenticating unit of this individual key. The individual key is stored beforehand also in the portable module. A random-number generator generates a random number, transmits this random number to the portable module and informs the authenticating unit of it. The portable module encrypts the random number with the individual key and sends it back to the service provider system. An encrypting portion of the authenticating unit encrypts the random number with the individual key. A comparator of the authenticating unit compares data encrypted by the encrypting portion with encrypted data transmitted from the portable module and, if the two items of data are coincident with each other, confirms an access request from the portable module.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 1996Date of Patent: July 21, 1998Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Ryota Akiyama, Akio Munakata, Yuzuru Koga, Masayuki Ishizaki

Patent number: 5784491Abstract: An image is vector-quantized into coded data, which is stored in a storage device. The coded data is read out of the storage device and is decoded. The decoded data may cause an overflow due to a vector quantization error. If every piece of coded data is checked for an overflow when it is decoding, a large number of processes must be carried which extends the decoding time. To solve this problem, each piece of coded data is once decoded in the vector quantization stage, to determine whether or not the coded data causes an overflow. If it is determined that it causes an overflow, the coded data is provided with exception judging information indicating that an exceptional overflow process must be carried out when decoding the coded data. As a result, the exceptional overflow process is carried out only when required in a decoding stage, to shorten a decoding time.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1995Date of Patent: July 21, 1998Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventor: Yuzuru Koga

Patent number: 5452097Abstract: A video data reproducing apparatus and method therefor having a file controller section for controlling video data recorded on a first recording medium at random positions, and further, having a second recording medium for recording the video data in a serial manner. The apparatus includes a decision section for judging whether to select the video data of either the first recording medium or the second recording medium. A first reading section reads out the data of the first recording medium through the file controller section when the first recording medium is selected by the decision section, and a second reading section reads out the video data to a buffer memory from the second recording medium, without any intervention of the file controller section, when the second recording medium is selected by the decision section.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 1993Date of Patent: September 19, 1995Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Yuzuru Koga, Satoshi Sonohara, Shigeki Furuta, Hitoshi Matsumoto

Patent number: 5440685Abstract: An apparatus including an image pick-up device, a data storage controlling arrangement, a main memory, a mass storage device, and a manipulation size setting unit. The image pick-up device picks up images to produce image data and stores the same into a frame buffer. The main memory offers rapid access but low storage capacity and stores the image data supplied from the frame buffer. The mass storage device is capable of holding a vast amount of memory but cannot be accessed very quickly. It also stores the image data supplied from the frame buffer. The manipulation size setting unit sets a mask region and a frame rate both of which are necessary for storing the image data into the mass storage device.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 1993Date of Patent: August 8, 1995Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Shushi Takiyama, Hitoshi Matsumoto, Yuzuru Koga
