  • Publication number: 20030103351
Abstract: An apparatus for alternatingly displaying several two-dimensional images, the apparatus including an image sheet printed with a series of discrete elongate segments of the several two-dimensional images, these image segments being mutually parallel and laterally spaced apart in a repeating sequence comprising a segment of a first image, and then a segment of a second image and then a segment of a third image; a light source behind the image sheet oriented to cast light through the image sheet; a lenticular lens including a flat sheet of transparent material having a lens surface embossed with an array of mutually parallel linear bulges corresponding in width and lateral spacing with image segment widths and lateral spacing; and a frame housing retaining the image sheet and the lens in front of and substantially parallel with the image sheet, so that movement of an observer standing generally in front of the lens relative to the apparatus causes all and only image segments of the first image to become visible

  • Patent number: 6390648
Abstract: A display apparatus for an art work includes a work support structure on which the art work rests; a power source; and an electric power circuit containing a light source oriented toward the work and a switch wired to a sensor for detecting the approach of a person, and upon detection to close the switch and thereby activate the light source to illuminate the work. The light source preferably is a low heat, substantially full visible spectrum light source. The light source preferably includes a fluorescent bulb and a reflector adjacent to the fluorescent bulb, the reflector being oriented relative to the fluorescent bulb to direct light from the fluorescent bulb toward the art work. The apparatus preferably additionally includes a timer, where the sensor is connected to the timer to shut off the switch a pre-set length of time after the moment of the last detected motion or body heat.

  • Patent number: 5221025
Abstract: A method of dispensing, issuing, or diffusing a liquid (volatile or otherwise) without using a propellant gas, the liquid being a perfume, a cosmetic, an insecticide, or a medicine, for example. The method consists in using a pump type spray head where a liquid is sprayed by being expelled under pressure through a nozzle, and being characterized by the use of a mechanical device during the expulsion stage for obtaining an instantaneous pressure which causes a dose or a spray to be delivered comparable to an aerosol of the type obtained when using a compressed or liquefied propellant gas i.e. an aerosol in which the particles of divided liquid are not greater than 45 microns in size in the liquid phase, and are less than 1 micron in the gas phase, after spraying has occurred, and without spoiling the sprayed substances.

  • Patent number: 4196029
Abstract: Process for depositing a thin conducting metal layer on an insulating support comprising the steps of applying on said support a layer of nonconducting ink loaded with a powder of metal, alloy or metallic derivative, heating said support and said layer to harden said ink layer, treating the surface of said layer so as to lay the particles forming said powder bare and immersing said thus coated support into a bath containing, in the form of particles, the conducting metal to be deposited, under conditions which are known per se and such that said conducting metal particles are deposited on the powder particles laid bare, wherein is used as insulating support a support made of an inorganic material provided with an enamel coating and the ink used being a compound formed of an enamel and a carrier, the melting point of said enamel being substantially equal to, and preferably slightly lower than, the softening point of the outer layer of said coating.
